At least nothing that everyone would find enjoyable. I've just been re-reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, this time making sure I actually read every word; usually I just skim through the long paragraphs and just get the gist of it, flowery words are merely a pain when reading ( Read more... )

I don't think that I've ever actually read Pride and Prejudice. It seems like a book that they would make you read in high school, but I don't think that I ever had to. I should pick it up and read it. =]

I remember having to pass the CPR test in high school health class. If we couldn't do CPR then we didn't pass health class. But, we didn't get a certificate or anything.

How alike are we right now? My allergies hate me today. :P It was all I could do to keep from sniffling all throughout computer art class. And P&P - I started it a few years ago and never got past a few chapters in because I just couldn't deal with all the flowery descriptive paragraphs that ran for page upon page. Perhaps I should try the skimming idea... But then again, I could just get the Cliff's Notes. ;)

I skim over paragraphs every now and then too. Sometimes I just kinda KNOW what is gonna happen and when someone describes the surroundings all the time it just gets boring. I even do that with Narnia (Im reading it right now). Its sad :(

Pride and Prejudice is amazing. It's hard to believe that I didn't actually read the whole novel until this year but wow, it's incomparable to the movie. First off, it's so detailed and the dialogue is simply superb. The characters are so much more alive and real because of it. :)
