In fact, since GACKT - who co-wrote and starred in Moon Child - is a major geek himself and is pretty famous, I am also okay to have him be fourth walled over a number of things. For instance, his music, his books, his casting for the role of Genesis in FFVII: CC, his voice acting for a couple Gundam series, his acting in TV commercials or as a samurai warrior in the drama Fuurin Kazan and... I can continue on. Sho pretty much IS GACKT without the singing or the famousness stuff really.
And if there is anything your character needs to know about the details of the movie itself, just PM or plurk me with questions. His app also has a good outline about everything as well.
