The grade is unimportant. Grades are pointless they define nothing of true worth, merely show whether or not you are good at jumping through hoops.

What can you LEARN from this class. Even the most stupid classes I took in college I managed to salvage something of use that I could know and take on to add to my knowledge in other area.

He may be a schmuck of the highest order, he may just be a guy beat down by students who try to half ass, skate by, have every excuse in the book, and he just has no patience left for any one, any where. Either way, it has no bearing on you really.

Tell me. Tell me what you have learned from this class! It's centuries of time, where amazing things happened to the human race. Tell me a story of this time, tell me what you have taken that you can add to your knowledge of the world and give to others to add to their knowledge as well.....

Oh sure, I've learned tons. I'm enjoying the subject, especially since it's not actually being taught by him, but a dead UCLA historian. I just hate that I'm not being graded for what I've learned. But I'm letting go of that. So here are some of the more prescient bits ( ... )

Bwahahaha... You need to forget music and teach history, girlfriend. I would so take your class! Actually you have the premise for a wonderful philosophical history or historical philosophy class. Start writing the curriculum!
