Happy Independence Day!

Jul 04, 2007 06:20

It's the 4th of July, and in the USA that means Independence Day, the day we declared our independence from England. In honor of this, I post these videos, which are some of my very favorites. Hope you like them too.

(No offense is intended to my English friends, though the schoolhouse rock video has a rather anti-English slant! :D)

I swear, I sat on YouTube just watching skit after skit of his for hours, laughing so hard I got an asthma attack. That man is fucking HILARIOUS. XD

Izzard is pretty darn good. He really feeds off the audience's energy. The 'Darth Vader canteen' sketch is one of my favorites. And I like how he inserts stuff he's previously mentioned, giving his routine a connected feeling.

Yes, I saw the canteen sketch the other night (but I watched it again when you posted it :D). He's got some really funny stuff in there. I love how flustered his Darth Vader gets. XD

I have his Dress To Kill concert on its way via Netflix right now; it should get here tomorrow. I know I've seen lots of clips from it on YouTube already but I tried to avoid seeing them all and just went looking for stuff from his previous tours. He's really a riot. I can't get enough of him now that I've discovered him! :D

I think Circle and Dress To Kill are worth watching (at least of what I've seen). Sexie was not as good, the audience wasn't into the jokes very much.

Enjoy!
