It's about an abandoned greyhound who was rescued and taken to an animal sanctuary. Once she was restored to health, she took it upon herself to "mother" all the new arrivals to the sanctuary.

Tres cute!

Greyhounds are nesters and gatherers. My parents' greyhound didn't get a chance to me a mommy (that I know of), but she loved little furry things and would gather them up in her crate. If you were missing a fuzzy slipper or teddy bear, you'd find it in there - sometimes hidden under her blankies...

Mom had these slippers that looked like teddy bears - you know, the kind where it looks like you're shoving your FOOT up the bear's ASS? One night I was visiting, and mom fell asleep downstairs in the recliner with these things on. The dog had been hanging' out with my dad upstairs - but suddenly she swept into the room, proceeded to pluck a slipper off my mom's foot, and *ZIP* ran upstairs with it (to her crate, presumably). My mom opened one eye, noted the missing footwear, and went back to sleep. Five minutes later, the other bear suffered the same fate.

I was INCAPACITATED with hilarity.

My friend's greyhound does the same thing with bringing stuff to her crate.

I loved the story, except for this one line: 'It is quite amazing, particularly as she is a greyhound breed and they are usually quite aggressive, That is why they are used for racing. Wha? I've never met an aggressive greyhound! I thought they were used for racing because they are built for speed!
