We love Harvey, here. My son was part of choosing the bust to go in City Hall earlier this year. There's a good documentary, The Life and Times of Harvey Milk, that is worth seeing, too.

Doesn't Sean do a beautiful job? I love him for that, if for nothing else.

I used to think Sean Penn was kind of a jerk, but when Hurricane Katrina hit, he came to New Orleans and I saw the man diving into filthy, dangerous, dark floodwaters with sharp, hidden, drifting debris, snakes and alligators and downed power lines, to rescue people trapped in the housing projects. A reporter tried to interview him and he was trying not to be too abrupt but he politely told them that while they were asking questions, people were trapped and dying, and he had to go do something about that, and he left and dove back in ( ... )

he went to iraq, too, to see for himself, some years ago. he got a lot of crap for it- so did the local paper, which ran the series.

he's just real.
