making "freezer jam" before? o_O

I'm kind of wanting to try it, but I'm kind of scared of it too, so I want to know if anyone's done this or ever tasted it. Is it any good?

My mum used to make freezer strawberry jam all the time, it was the best strawberry jam EVER! It was easier to make than the regular jam too.

I've never tried/had it before but this sounds really easy. I might have to give it a go...
