The whole Palin thing is just wrong and I'm afraid that too many people are going to fall for it and we'll be stuck staring and them for the next 4-8 years. I listen to a lot of conservative talk radio, mostly because the progressive talk is hard to get on the dial and I'll have to listen to Air America when I'm at the computer, and it quite disgusts me how Palin is being put on this pedestal and lauded as being the second coming while Obama is the anti-christ.

The bledin' anti-christ? Come on, "conservative" America? I don't think anyone should be considered the anti-christ, even if you don't agree with their politics.

And the whole "oh it's so historical to have this (white) woman held up so"... which completely discounts the struggles people of color have gone through, so I guess it all going to be ok now.

No, I think you make perfectly valid points. And anyway, you're always welcome to rant in my journal. Ranting is certainly not trolling in my book; ranting is simply impassioned verbal observation, and to me, passion is far superior to apathy. ;)

I agree with you. I'm offended that rich, privileged, white people are sitting around talking shit about a decently-qualified democratic candidate as though he were Satan, apparently because he happens to have darker skin and was once a different religion -- and all the while they are lauding this woman with next to zero experience and who doesn't even know what the job of the VP would entail. Hillary Clinton was torn to pieces by conservatives for being so focused on the presidency and being female, but some of the same things they attacked her for, they're putting a spin on and praising Palin for. WTF?? I HATE hypocrites.
