Saying, "Just don't do it" isn't going to help protect them. Don't people get it? Why is it so hard for anyone to understand? I really am having trouble wrapping my brain around it.

Yes, my dear, but that's the current complaint: Abstinence only education says just "Don't do it" and doesn't explain anything about birth control or protection against disease, and keeps the kids ignorant, and that's why they're getting infected at such high rates. Your parents taught you, so you didn't get just the abstinence-only education.

Yet another reason why abstinence-only programs are moronic. I mean, aside from the fact that saying "Just don't do it" hasn't ever worked, through all of recorded history. [eyeroll] A pack of idiots is controlling the national sex education policies and our kids are paying for it. Lovely.
