One of the advantages of having Percy for a neighbor is the garden overflow.

Of course, there are also drawbacks.

For instance, it's not entirely unusual for the Orkney household to be woken by a stream of soprano curses -- but ordinarily they issue from upstairs.

Clar clatters down the stairs, a book in her hands. "Mother?"

"What, what?" Gawain says, stumbling out into the hall. "Clar?"

"--What?" in tones of abrupt horror, and then, "Oh, my God."

[girdleforakiss]

Gawain, it must be said, resembles a fish at this point.

"...Clar?" he says nervously, "Ah. Um. There are rather two - But I expect you'd noticed. Both of you. Um."
