Is it at all realistic that I'll be able to/want to write in the first few months after the baby is born?

Judging from my many months of reading akashathekitty's journal... it's possible, but unlikely.

Good point. And she is a much more dedicated writer than I am, I'm sorry to say. But maybe... maybe if I have nothing to do "work" wise... and it's just me and the baby... and I miraculously manage to get enough sleep...

Alright, you're right. It's probably very very unlikely. Oh, oh, oh, maybe I'll have a little break from work in the weeks before the baby comes.

*much wishful thinking*

Oh, those lyrics...

GAH.

I hope that the song jump started your muse a little bit :) But it sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, and I know that can really put a damper on the creative spirit. As can sleep deprivation (post baby!) But it is perfectly reasonable for you to write after the baby is born if you make time for it... I have to cut other things out of my schedule (like TV) to write, but I think it is worth it.

*shrugs*

*sigh* I don't have much to cut out. I don't even watch tv or movies anymore. Just work and read baby books, and yoga and walks, and getting the house ready. *double sigh*

But you never know...

baby brain kills writing. Happened to me too. It killed anything creative, anything that didn't involve being really domestic. Your muse will return with a vengence. It will!

oy! The first part of your reply made my skin go pale. But the hope that my muse will return with a vengence is happy indeed. Thanks!

Have to agree. I was put out of work a month early and thought 'oh hell yeah! A whole month to write!' I blame the baby for stealing the muse.

After she was born, I slept, cleaned up, slept, and took care of her. Really, that two hour schedule they have is for the birds. But then I started to write again! And when I look at her, I could care less about missing that writing time!

One off topic suggestion: Don't get over excited and open everything you get! There are so many of her things I hated when I really looked at them, but I had opened them in my excitement and was stuck with them. *sigh*

May I have your muse if you're not using it?

I promise to return it undamaged.

Slightly mussed, maybe...

lol. My cleavage needs no help!

Strange to think of CH in terms of nostalgia, but I suppose it *has* gotten to that point. Very heartening to think that it will always be there waiting, however long it takes.
