Life Lesson # 347 for Morons

If you are going to steal, steal the good stuff.

You may be surprised to learn that I know this from experience. When I was a (albeit strange) kid, I used to steal from the grocery store. Candybars and toys were not swanky enough for me. I stole avocados and mangoes. (Dude, they were like $1 each and my dad wouldn't buy ( Read more... )

That's so damn stupid. I'm sorry they stole it. :/

I hate people who steal from individuals. I have a few friends who steal from places like Target and Walmart... and thats more understandable. I mean, its not like they're not gonna miss stupid little things, lol. But when people steal from our teachers or whatever, I get so mad.

Gr. I'm sorry *hugs*

oooh stealing from teachers is not okay. I don't condone stealing from anyone or anywhere. I was a mixed up kid (like under 10 years old) when I did, and was very much acting out. Cause I wanted what I wanted and no one was going to stop me. oy. Stupidity. But at least I stole good stuff. :)

Sorry about your bike. Some things are just worth more to you than they could ever be worth to someone else. Kinda like my car - it's old and books less than a thousand, but it's paid off and works great so I love it more than beans!

And about your klepto-pretentiousness: good on you! When we lived in San Diego, my dad would take us out to hop fences and steal avocados from the orchards. Same goes for every trip to Disneyland ever - we'd easily walk away with a laundry basket full of oranges.

Outside of being my dad's sidekick, I once tried to steal a whole outfit from Mervyns by wearing the outfit under my own clothes. Needless to say, I was not a very smart ten year old. Why I would steal that, but always paid for my cigarettes, I'll never figure out.

lmao @ klepto-pretentiousness! God, that's great! And I wasn't too smart either. Got caught when I was 8 and stole baby oil (of all things) because I wanted to be like our roommate who tanned with baby oil on the rooftop. Have you seen me? Well, I've seen you. We have similar complexions. I would have been in the hospital with blisters if I hadn't gotten caught. lol. Not that it stopped me. I finally learned that I should just steal money from my dad and buy what i wanted. Yeah, I got caught for that too.

God, I love avocados. In the top five foods easily, with ice cream and peanut butter.

OMG! Mervyns! lol! I grew up in SoCal too. Great store! :)

lol. actually, I think it's a sign to concentrate on getting that car that we are so desperately in need of. Eventually I will get a new bike to. But I'd rather see the money go towards a car now.

I wonder if they will scratch of the "Ilke" sticker. Or if they will play with the little bell on the handle bar. I hope it pinches them. :)

ah man!! that's awful!

I live in a city, and I use my bike to go everywhere. I have alot of friends who are competitive cyclists and they have at least 2 bikes each: their pimped up, expensive bike and their 25$ old bike they use for everyday stuff...bike stealing is actually quite a problem in my city, so the crappier your bike, the better...

As for your writing...I've choreographed a cyber-cheer routine, with pompoms and everything! Considering my propensity to have massive klutz attacks, it's a good thing it's a cyber routine...

You can do it! :D

Do you live in Minneapolis? It was a problem when we lived there. Mr. Ilke said to me tonight: Is this the first bike you've had stolen?

lol. Apparently its nothing new for him.

thanks for the cyber routine! *giggling*

I live in Montreal, where cycling is a way of life because it's such a great place for it, but as a result, bike thefts is a common problem. I've had some parts stolen off mine, which can suck majorly.

You know what, maybe I should do something about this...I could take up the life of a masked vigilante who takes to the streets at night, haunting the steps of would-be bicycle thiefs...I've always wanted a cape...
