I DOUBLE HEART Portland

Aug 04, 2008 00:18

In the last week I've been to a hilarious drag show that has been going so long that it is a Portland institution (70 year old fat men in assless chaps, wigs, and sequin makeup-what is not to love?), a block party on my street that had make your own hula hoops and fire dancing, and tonight I went to a Lilies and Lanterns party.

Sounds like a lovely, magical evening. Beautiful dress, too. They don't do anything cool like that around me. You've been having a lot of fun lately, I'm so jealous. I'm just happy to have everyone else go out and let me have the house to myself. How pathetic is that?

LOL at the centipede - was it one of those big beige ones that have thousands of hairy legs? I hate those! I'm a real screamer when I see a bug of any sort, especially spiders. Ugh, shudder! I'm turning my kids into little arachniphobics, I can't help myself. One of them buggers gets within ten feet of me, I just lose it.

It was a lovely evening. Last year we had a "pooh readings" during one. and lovely guitar music too. *sigh* I feel very swoony just thinking about it ( ... )

Oh, jeez, don't give me any more ideas! LOL! Although Ron was the one scared of spiders, I don't recall if Hermione was. I could certainly do a hell of a description of someone's reaction to one of those hideous creatures!

Summer does seem to be the most conducive season for geting out and having fun. I could use just one night every two weeks (other than my critique group) for a night out. My husband goes to Happy Hour every Friday, which isn't terrible because he's not underfoot driving me nuts, but I don't get to go out and let loose as much. When I do, it's usually a GNO once every 3 months. Because if hubby and me go out together, I have to plan everything in advance, because I have to make sure I have the kids being taken care of.

Your life sounds so much fun - I'm so drolll, and there you are chatting with people you don't even know, freaking over centipedes and beading your own clothes.

Geez I'm such a dork...

Yeah. it totally freaked me out. I mean, I've never seen one before. ever. So, it's not like Portland is crawling with centipedes or anything - it was sort of an unusual occurrence. Though, I did find a caterpillar living in my kitchen counter basil. That was kind of strange. Must have moved in with the plant.

I'm with you on the early alzheimers. I'm way to young to have such a crappy memory. I'll ask someone their name and minutes later, I can't remember it. UGH!

I'll work on the Portland pics. I like that too. What about pics of NY, huh? I love the stoops in some neighborhoods. Been a looooong time since I was there though.

Love the party! If I wasn't so annoyingly allergic to flowers, it would sound like a dream! I also love that you can wear your wedding dress more than once, mine is still in a bag in the living room, needing to go to the cleaners, and can't bring that puppy out to a party, people would look at me like I lost my mind! Now, to hijack,...just a quick note, I love how Draco is all casual when she comes to his room, not dolled up in some Hugh Hefner imitation black smoking jacket with emerald green ascot, embroidered with a snake of course, but his uniform, in the middle of reading, like "oh, yea Granger, you're here for your 'fuck you into the floor' appointment? *sigh* Very well, come on in" *snort* THE MAN IS BACK! Now, I may die happy! (Left you love on GE as well!)

Um. NO!

LMFAO! Hugh Hefner imitation black smoking jacket with emerald green ascot, embroidered with a snake of course Oh my god you're killing me! Its SO true huh? *runs to the one-shot to rip off Draco's clothes...... oh yeah, and re-dress him - in a sec...)

And And..."oh, yea Granger, you're here for your 'fuck you into the floor' appointment? *sigh* Very well, come on in"

Damn woman! So, I have to ask... I've been wondering for a while now... why don't you write? I see comedic genius coming out of you. Hmm???

I never sent my dress to the cleaners! I think it still has a grass stain on it from where we collapse in the shade in exhaustion! Oops! (like I care)

Thank you, i'm a natural born smart-ass (and they say TV is bad for you!), and I so want to write, esp some Dramione, you know give back and all, but when I started writing ideas in a journal, it came out SO Mary Sue! I've got an idea for a one-shot, not really original, but fun, but meh, I'll leave it to you pros and live vicariously through you guys!
