I think you are totally justified in wanting that rug. Just because you can make things for yourself doesn't mean you should have to! I mean who's got the time or energy unless your heart's really in the project? Your philosophy can be: "Hey, even though that rug's from Pottery Barn, I find that the pattern appeals to my artistic sensibilities. It has a certain aesthetic that I think would compliment my lifestyle." And if that else fails, "Fuck off and die" is usually a good back-up.

I had to learn that lesson a while back. It's so easy to get caught up in the "but I can make it" mindset. And then suddenly you have knitting projects, and quilting, and rug making (yes, I've gone there), pottery.... and the list goes on, until you have 100 projects and nothing to wear! lol. Thanks for the vote! And I love the philosophy! :)

An eclectic mix is always fantastic, and you certainly have an eye for mixing and matching :)
A semi-permanent fort around the bed? Ooooo! I bet that is fun ;)

exactly! And then I'll run the damn thing when I get blockprinting ink on it. lol.
I do love an ecclectic mix though. So fun, and such a better reflection of how we are - multi-dimensional and all. :)
