Yup. He used a wood burning tool and burned it into the wood. House smelled like a pine forest for days. it was lovely. :) He paints and sculpts toys too and I keep thinking I should tell him to do a Draco & Hermione Dunny set (or all the HP characters). These are a bride & groom that he did on commission for some toy collectors who used them as cake toppers (they are 3 inches tall - tiny).

Well, he didn't make them 100%. There is a base that he started with - the "Dunny" - and then he scuplts and painst on top of the base. In this case the people sent photos of themselves and of what they would be wearing. The dress is sculpted onto the base. Anyway he is rather good at it. I think he is a great sculptor! :)

This is incredible!!

So beautiful and elegant, and right up my Golden Age of Hollywood alley! WOW!!

I mean, it's wood...it's burnt...yet, I can feel the satiny texture of her gown...see the light reflecting on the fabric's luxuriant folds.

I love how there is so much that is simply suggested, like her facial features, allowing the imagination to fill in the blanks!

Phenomenal!!!

Mr. Ilke is genius!
