Socks for The Pants at Wounded Knee

Sep 01, 2008 11:15

So, there I was, complaining about my cold feet and how I wasn't ready for the weather to change to autumn chilliness yet, and pouting cause I didn't have any clean socks (which is enitely untrue, but all my new socks are dirty and the rest are upstairs anyway and I just came from upstairs and I don't wanna go up again right now). So there I was...

Carrot socks! I love them all, really. My hubby does things like that too. Mostly, he speaks for the dog.

I've been meaning to ask - in This Too - the two scenes described; am I right thinking they are from specific books?

I thought the first might be The Secret Garden? and the second Age of Innocence?

Also, I want to read Love in the time of Cholera now.

Close. The first is Out of Africa, the second is Age of Innocence :)

Love in the Time of Cholera is great. If you haven't seen the movie - don't. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is a superb writer. 100 Years of Solitude is one of my favorite books of all time, only knocked out of first place by Out of Africa.

If you haven't read OoA I HIGHLY recommend it. Even above Love in the Time of Cholera.

The Carrot Socks are my faves!

Out of Africa - saw the movie, haven't read the book. I loved Age of Innocence, though (I've read all her stuff).

The Carrot Socks reminded me of a drabble I wrote foe the first dram ldws round: What's Up, Doc?

Thank you, by the way, for pimping. :-)

The Out of Africa movie is actually a good book to movie adaptation, though it's still NOTHING compared to the book. The best part of the movie, is that when you read the book, you hear that woman's voice reading to you. Sublime.

I was happy to pimp and will do it again this next time!

Aren't they awesome! She didn't produce any men's socks the year I did the ninjas. *pout* and then she had someone else do ninja socks later on that were no where near as cool! *double pout*

Holy sweet ninja socks! I love them, hell, I love them all. So cute.

ROFL at your husband beating you with a pillow, trying to deny his sweetness. Nice. "I'm guessing Irish from the odd accent he used to impersonate the socks." HAHA!

lol! Mr. Ilke does HORRIBLE accents. It's really hilarious. At least he doesn't let that stop him. :) He's a funny guy.

Haha! That's good that he doesn't let it stop him. LOL. You design socks and he does horrible accents; match made in heaven, methinks. Oh, and when do we expect a new chapter of Claiming Hermione? *grins*

I sent to my betas (my first time) last night, so hopefully it'll be up in a couple days. I need to work ahead a little so that I can get back on track time-wise.

I think it's a match made in heaven too!

I also dig the ninja socks! Ninjas are my favorites, except for zombies. Hm. Zombie socks? Just a thought!

Very cool job you had there.
