Aw, this was so nice to read. I just love getting to know more about folks on my f-list. And what's always so nice is seeing how much we have in common- love of travel, history, reading.. and COOKIES! ha! Seamus has gotten me semi-addicted to Jaffa cakes, but I'm not sure they count as cookies. They sure are tasty, though.

Jaffa cakes might not be cookies but they definitely fall into the sweet and yummy category.

I think it's great that you don't drink alcohol. I find that there's lots of pressure to do so in the US, both socially and for business purposes. I admire you for sticking to your beliefs.

There's quite a bit of pressure here too but now I'm pretty comfortable with it although it's always amusing when I go out with new friends and work people.

Them:(baffled), "A coke? With what?"

Me:(tongue-in-cheek), "A slice of lemon"

And of course I always remember the antics that everyone wishes I wouldn't, which is a fun way to hold people to ransom *evil grin*
