So I have had so much on my mind as of late and I find that I have no where to go with it. I have considered having a good old fashion written journal but there is always that feeling of what if someone finds it and reads the stuff I don't want anyone to see in it (reminds me of younger brothers stealing their sister's diary only to oust her at the ( Read more... )

Welcome back! I'm trying to get more into LJ as well. Facebook is just plain annoying and twitter is too brief for real thought.

Agreed. It has it's functions (though I never use twitter) but I need more from my expression. Also, this is still a safe haven where my family doesn't stalk me constantly.

It's good to see you here! I'm spending more time away from Facebook lately. Not only has the site just been giving me major errors (not allowing me to post comments, not loading comments correctly, not loading PERIOD) but I find I'm generally happier on days I don't go there.

I miss you lots and I'm glad I'll get to see you around here more, even if it's just your venting place. :D

I miss you too! :D

As for Facebook, I find that it's just too much information, I end up missing important things because I am overloaded with junk. And a lot of the stuff I do read on there is very superficial knowledge. I do like the sharing of large amounts of pictures and it does keep me updated on the basics of friends I have lost touch with but it lacks so personality and a true sense of knowing people.

it does. I know what people ate for breakfast, and who they're voting for and how they feel about politics and what youtube videos they're watching, but not how they're actually doing. it's kind of weird because it gives people a sense of 'keeping in touch' with none of what keeping in touch actually entails. LJ used to kind of be like that for me, but facebook is even worse.

It's a hard line to toe, and while I quite enjoy most social networking, I find if I let them become a crutch I get really sad and lonely.

I know you're super busy with work and school and everything, but feel free to give me a poke whenever. <3
