Travelling

Hey all, I just thought I might post my question here since I have many LJ friends around the world. I'm planning to travel as much as I can before I'm 25 and finally decide to move out. So, I'm wondering where should I go, and when would be the cheapest time to travel?

I wonder, do you have any specific places you want to visit? I could give you lots of tips if you want to head on over to NJ or NYC or Florida, but not so much if you want to go elsewhere, lol. XD

Well, nothing specific yet, because I can't quite afford to travel to the US just yet. It's too expensive to fly over from Melbourne.

I do know when I go to the US, I'm definitely visiting my friend in Boston, and possibly another friend in Houston. I'm also super keen on visiting DC and seeing all the tourist-y stuff, i.e. Declaration of Independence, Lincoln Memorial, etc. I also want to stay at a fancy hotel for at least one or two nights in NYC. I definitely want to go to the Met, MoMA and so on. I want to go visit Harvard, Yale, MIT, CalTech and all the other amazing universities and check out their chemistry grad programs and the amazing grounds (they kick Melbourne Uni's arse in that department)

It's just a big long list :P

Any recommendations would be fantastic though. I'm just trying to work out the cheapest possible option, since I am a poor uni student.
