I know someone who does lots of big VM's, although it's all Sun/Oracle VirtualBox. I'd be glad to ask him if he has opinions, though.

I think I mostly have things nailed down at this point. Thanks though!

Sorry, I just have to LOL at the fact that I understood very little of that. :D

It's good for me not to start thinking that I'm too smart, though, so I appreciate the dose of reality this morning. ;)

Oh shush. You're perfectly intelligent. You just don't have my specific domain knowledge.

I don't have yours either. And besides, you're way prettier than I am. ;)

Although I do know what you're talking about, the other week the lab got some new piece of equipment (which is basically a $5k crock pot, apparently) and one of the lab tech folks was telling me what it's used for, and I had... pretty much the same experience that other people have when I jabber on about computer shit. I understood maybe one word in twenty, and those words were not technical words. ;)

No! I mean that in a good way. I spend so much time with stuff I *DO* know that it's good for me to encounter stuff I'm not so good at/know very little about. I don't like to get too comfortable or insulated. It turns my brain into mush. ;)

And awww! I'll take a compliment any day!

....although BB needs some finesse with his compliments. He patted me on the cheek and said, "Pretty mommy." I was feeling pretty good until he grabbed my hand immediately after and said, "Fruit snacks now?" LOL

I wonder what exactly a $5,000 crock pot can do. Hell, I'm pretty happy with my $30 Crock Pot, because it performs the alchemy of changing raw 'stuff' into actual, edible food. ;)
