Right.

So this is definitely real, but Can I get some real information on this place? What brought us here, why we were brought here - things like that? Do we have records or files that contain information on all the monsters we should look out for? How many people are here, anyway? And what do these chips do to people that don't have.. "powers"?

Apparently only a group of researchers are the actual natives. They put the chips in us when they bring us here. How, I have no idea, nor do we know how they can breach the gap between worlds.

I would have told you more originally, but I saw you had at least a few friends from your world to get acquainted with.

No, it's alright! I'm sorry if what I said came off as rude..

So, they're treating us like guinea pigs?!

Non, non! A true woman need never apologize to Johnny, my lady.

...Hm. For lack of a better term, yes. That's about the size of it. As for the monsters, most of the people who were here earlier can tell you about them.

The chips shut off abilities that are "beyond the human level" as I like to put it. Things humans normally shouldn't be able to do. Even those of us who aren't humans are diminished. They also probably play a role in some of the little incidents around here.

I understand.

And I'm guessing that any attempts to leave were put to waste, right? I mean, given how many people there are, here..

That 'group of natives' who are the ones who brought us here, they call themselves scientists and tend to be very tight-lipped about their means and reasons. The popular theory used to be that they wanted us to rebuild and repopulate Discedo, but their behavior, especially of late, isn't conductive to that at all.

As for the chips, they have to do something besides suppress powers, but a means to analyze them hasn't been found. Personally, I believe that at the very least they contain a transmitter, allowing the scientists to read vital signs as well as know a chipped person's location, but there has to be more.

As recently as six days ago, those with their chips still in suffered certain side-effects. The chip managed to suppress not just powers, but emotions as well. It lasted for only a couple of days and the scientists claimed that it was a mistake. Apparently this isn't the first time that chips have had an effect on people's minds, but I wasn't here for the previous incident.

It seems like it sometimes. You're not the only one who feels that way.

What!? I'm perfectly fine when it comes to--

.. Ah .. Jyumonji and Kuroki are in the warehouses, I think? But I didn't want to intrude or live in a warehouse, so I looked around and found this place. What about you?
