[A young Christopher is standing at the edge of a valley, dressed in pyjamas far too small for him. Besides the valley there are nothing but cliffs, dark and gloomy, wet and slippery with rain. He doesn't seem to mind though, looking right at home there, just hesitating as though not sure whether to walk down that particular valley or choose

Well, isn't this interesting?

[And it is, because traveling worlds in Yuuko's universe is really different! She comes up from behind, having somehow navigated the cliffs, and she smiles down at Christopher.]

Well, that's because you're a clistoffer and not a mermaid. [She grins at him.]

[giving her a serious, almost concerned look.] You know I'm not a...oh. [catching on] I wouldn't mind being a mermaid for a while. Or...a merman. Whatever the boy mermaids are called.

Be careful what you wish. Especially in dreams. [She lifts a hand in the direction of the sea.]

Oh, it's not really a wish. I was just wondering what it would be like. [Looking out towards the sea as well.]

[moresake]

[After a moment's long consideration.] Wet. Quite different than your life then or now.

[Well, being wet wasn't much fun, he had enough of that climbing around in the Place Between.] I guess being a boy isn't too bad. [said a lot more seriously than he would have if he'd been his proper age.]

[moresake]

It's a good thing you like it, because you still have a few years to go. [She grins. Yuuko likes kids, not that she'd usually admit it, and Christopher is pretty amusing.]

[iknowmore]

More than a few years, I hope. [looking glum] Mum wants me to become a missionary when I grow up. I'll be eaten by heathens!

[moresake]

Perhaps if you're a good missionary, you can talk them out of it.

I'd rather not be one at all.
