So the violent orange coffee table has been refurbished. Made by grand-dad, so not really a prospect to throw out. After some pondering I got some surplus hardwood floating flooring from Bunnings for free and some skirting board. The recycling facility gets big boxes of books now and then. While I pick through and augment my collections, there are limits and I can't (and don't want to) keep all of them. The nice thing about this time of year is that it doesn't matter if I leave the cider out in the car all day instead of putting it in the fridge.

Instead of watching the world cup, I went rock fishing. Have a nice salmon, but when I got home last night it was blissful to sleep in a warm bed rather than wading around in the dark, cold water looking for prawns.

Lots of effort at home over the last couple of weeks, pretty good outcome though. A whole bunch of things that have been festering have had some attention exerted to them and the house is looking much better with substantially less cruft around the place. I used to listen to a lot of music at work, but ever since I shifted into a more people role I haven't really been able to. There's just too many calls and contacts and if I do have headphones on, people leave me alone which is exactly what they shouldn't be doing (I supposed to be there to intervene if they aren't getting what they need).
