My husband wanted to get those new LED bulbs, because they're so high tech, use less energy, last longer, etc...

We got those things home and put them in the bathroom, they give off maybe a quarter of the light the regular bulbs do. They're completely unusable, they're going back to the store...

I was convinced that the energy efficient light globes worked - becuase i had an anal retentive housemate that kept track of how much time it was between replacing globes, and the energy efficient ones lasted twice as long.

Originally, but the life span seems to have plummeted as they become commodity items in he supermarket. Just had a halogen style bulb go bang and rain tiny shards of glass everywhere.

So I went and bought some good bulbs today. Hopefully brand name bulbs will last longer. These ones are notionally rated for 6000 hours.
