Dive into work

It's been a few months since Jeff got out of the hospital. His neck hadn't snapped when he stepped off the roof, thankfully. He had, however, dangled there for a few moments until the lack of oxygen made him black out. When he woke up, he was in a hospital bed and he couldn't for the life of him remember who the doctors said brought him in. Maybe ( Read more... )

Corrie has never been exactly the type to dream of becoming a model. In reality, all she ever wanted was to get out of Medicine Creek and into some big city college, which she's managed to do already. That, and moving in with a fortysomething-year-old man in New York after he saved her from Shit Creek. She guesses heading to get her picture taken isn't that weird, after all.

She knocks on Jeff's door, jacket zipped tightly around her. "Hello?" Corrie calls. "Model delivery."

Honestly, Jeff's nervous about letting another teenage girl into his home, after what happened with Hayley. But Corrie hasn't followed him on the internet, or asked for a meeting, or anything like that. No, he'd sought her out because he was looking for models.

Besides, Jeff's since invested in pepper spray and a phone in every room. Just in case.

He answers the door with a smile, "Hi there. Come on in, I was just finishing setting things up. Can I get you anything? Water, soda, something like that?"

Traumatizing as Jeff's previous experiences might have been, Corrie is one teenager who isn't planning on taking a pound of his flesh. She's prepared-- both Pendergast and Proctor knew where she was, and both were just a cell phone call away just in case something goes wrong. Which she isn't anticipating, but better safe than sorry.

Corrie greets like with like, giving Jeff a small smile in turn. "Hey. Thanks, um, a water would be great," she says, stepping into the apartment. "So, I have to admit, I'm new to this. How does this usually go?

For which Jeff is eternally thankful. "Well, go ahead and take your jacket off," he calls over his shoulder, going to fetch two bottles of water. Sealed drinks are safer. Less chance of contamination.

When he returns, he smiles and gestures to the couch, "Then you come sit and we talk for a bit. Get to know each other a little better. I like knowing a bit about the girls I work with. The more I know, then more you share with me, the better the shoot will turn out."
