On the morning of the day that L thinks is their anniversary, he wakes up early just from jitters. He'd managed to stop talking and asking everyone about it, and now he's lying in bed with Matt, watching him and wondering if he knows

It always takes Matt a while to wake up; an early-waking L doesn't help. But apparently he's sensed something, since he turns, draping an arm across L's and burrowing closer.

Then the knowledge of what day it is filters down into Matt's sleep-muddied brain. His eyes fly open.

L smiles at him, sliding closer an giving Matt one long, slow kiss. It's their anniversary.

Matt starts laughing half-way through the kiss, pulling L closer. He's delighted, he's in love - still in love. Can't imagine wanting anything more.

... and can't seem to pull away from the kiss, either, which might pose a slight problem. At some point he should probably wish L a happy anniversary with something like words.

L rolls on top of him, pinning Matt against the pillows and nibbling down along his jaw. He gets it.
