Chloe Sullivan did not do spontaneous.

She always had a plan and a backup plan and most times she had a backup plan for the backup plan in case something crazy happened (which it usually did). Her best friend was an alien, her cousin was a reporter with a knack for landing herself in life threatening peril on a weekly basis and Chloe worked day and night with a team of heroes to try and keep the rest of the world safe. Spontaneity was a luxury she could not afford and frankly had no use for.

She was not the kind of girl who could just drop everything, throw caution to the wind and decide to do something selfish. Chloe knew she had a purpose in the world that was greater than her and she was fine with that. She was more than fine with it. She was proud. She was proud to be the person she was and do the kind of work that she and the team did on a daily basis. The world needed them now more than ever.

But there were times when it got to be too much. Oliver disappearing had been hard and getting kidnapped by Checkmate the next day herself had been no picnic either. Tess and her snide comments had gotten on her nerves and Clark finding out about the kryptonite weapons and throwing an alien-sized tantrum while hyped up on Red K had pushed her closer to the edge. But Chloe sucked it up and kept going because that was who she was.

She had planned on spending the evening at Watchtower, working on the security upgrades and having a glass of wine or two to calm her nerves. That was the kind of girl she was. She didn’t burden others with her problems or expect people to make her feel better. She internalized things, fixed them in her own way and moved on. Maybe it wasn’t a smart or fulfilling way to handle things, but it was her way and it worked for her.

Except this time, it wasn’t working. She couldn’t focus on her work or even enjoy the wine. Her mind wandered and no matter how hard Chloe tried to push the thoughts aside, her brain wasn’t giving up. Before she could stop herself, Chloe had called a cab and told the driver to take her to the airport.

She was not the kind of girl who spent a small fortune on last minute airfare and jumped on a plane at eleven p.m. without telling a soul where she was going. She was not the kind of girl who flew three hours to a city she’d never been to before. She was most definitely not the kind of girl who did those things because the only thing she wanted in the world was to feel a certain man’s arms wrapped tightly around her.

As the cab came to a stop in front of Oliver’s building, Chloe realized she had not paid attention to her surroundings on the drive from the airport. Her normally curious mind had barely noticed the lights of Star City as anything more than a blur while she waited anxiously to get to her destination. A voice in her head (that sounded suspiciously like Lois) told her that people who were just having fun did not get this excited about seeing one another and certainly didn’t fly halfway across the continent to surprise the other person in the middle of the night.

Chloe mentally told Lois to shut up and reached into her purse for the key card Oliver had given her when she officially went to work for him as Watchtower. At the time, she’d scoffed and said there was no reason she needed a key to an apartment she’d probably never see, but Oliver had insisted that she have full access to all the locations the team used as bases. Grateful for his keen foresight, Chloe slipped the card in the lock and stepped inside.

Like the clock tower in Metropolis, Oliver owned the entire building but only used the penthouse apartment. She made her way across the lobby and used the key card again to access the elevator. Her heart began to beat faster as the elevator ascended. Between tracking the Kandorians and dealing with Queen Industries, Oliver had been gone for almost three weeks. They had still talked to each other several times a day and she had guided Oliver and Victor through a mission, but it wasn’t the same as seeing him. As hard as it was for her to admit, (even to herself), Chloe had missed him.

The elevator doors opened and Chloe walked into a dark apartment. The floor to ceiling windows showed off a breathtaking view of the city and gave her enough light so she didn’t trip over any furniture. It was nearly one a.m. and she figured Oliver was probably out patrolling. She set her purse down on a chair and started to sit down on the couch before quickly changing her mind. Since she’d already come this far out of her comfort zone, Chloe figured she might as well go all out.

She had a vague recollection of the floor plan from her big sister days when she’d been keeping a close eye on the team. The penthouse was nearly three times the size of the clock tower one and the master bedroom was on the far end. She carefully made her way down the hallway passing a home gym on one side and an entertainment room that the boys made good use of when they were in town on the other. The hallway turned and split off in two directions. Chloe remembered the kitchen and Oliver’s home office and equipment room were on one side and the other led to the bedroom.

She headed down the left hallway and gave her eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness. There were dark rooms on either side of her and Chloe bypassed those, assuming they were the guest rooms the team frequently used and headed for the closed door at the end of the hall. Smiling to herself as she imagined the look on Oliver’s face, Chloe opened the door.

Her smile disappeared when she was greeted by the back of a naked blonde woman bucking her hips against him while he lay beneath her on the bed, his hands gripping her thighs as they moved together. The woman moaned in ecstasy and then leaned forward to kiss him. His hands traveled to her bottom and he tugged her closer.

The initial shock wore off and panic set in as Chloe realized she had to get out of there before he saw her. She reached for the doorknob, trying to back out of the room as quietly as possible, her eyes focused on the floor. That was when she spotted it. Lying on the floor amongst the pile of discarded clothes was a long, brown wig.

Dinah.

Chloe pulled the door closed and covered her mouth with her hand. She wanted to scream and cry and beat her head against the wall for being so stupid. This was what she got for being spontaneous and doing something so ridiculously out of character - a front row seat to Oliver making love to another woman.

But not just any woman, Chloe thought. She squeezed her eyes shut to try and stop the tears from forming. She wasn’t just some random bimbo that Oliver found to help him scratch an itch. Dinah was one of them. She was someone who Chloe dealt with on a regular basis and now she was going to have that image of her and Oliver burned into her head for the rest of her life.

She had to get out of there. Chloe was already forming a plan as she walked back down the hall, trying to step softly and keep her heels from making too much noise against the hardwood. As soon as she got back to the airport, she would log into the security system and erase all traces that she had made this trip. She would have to remove the key card log and the building’s video footage. Oliver could never know she’d been in Star City.

The sharp ache in her chest grew worse when she remembered that she’d left her laptop at Watchtower along with everything else. She’d gotten on a plane with her purse and a ridiculous notion that seeing Oliver was all she needed. Well, she’d seen him all right and look where that got her.

Chloe bit down hard on her lip and turned into the next hallway to go back to the main room. She would not cry over this. Wasn’t she the one who said over and over again that they were not in a relationship? They were having fun and there were no strings and that meant Oliver could sleep with whoever he wanted and she had no right to be upset about it.

She was startled to see light when she turned the corner and Chloe realized she had gone down the wrong hallway and ended up in the kitchen. There was food covering every inch of the long island in the center and she bitterly wondered if Oliver and Dinah had planned on working up an appetite. Disgusted, she turned to go back when a sharp gust of wind blew past her and suddenly Bart was grinning at her.

“Chloelicious! I didn’t know you were coming.”

Chloe swallowed hard. There was no way she was going to be able to get out without Oliver knowing she’d been there now. “Hi Bart.” She forced herself to smile at him while she tried to think of a new plan. “What are you doing here?”

“A little late night snack,” Bart replied. He held up a takeout bag from his favorite burrito place. “It’s still hot if you want some,” he offered.

“No thanks,” Chloe replied. She watched him speed over to the overcrowded counter and start making sandwiches. She knew Bart could eat a lot, but he only consumed that much food when he was refueling. “Have you been running?” she asked.

Bart nodded and reached for his burrito. He took a generous bite and politely finished chewing before he answered. “Yeah, Bossman sent me on some recon to check on those weapons piles and move some of them around after Clark went all crazy.” He finished his burrito and reached for a second one. “I figured he told you.”

“No,” Chloe snapped. Apparently Oliver didn’t feel the need to fill her in on everything that was going on. Fuming, she sat down at the island and reached for a candy bar. It was bad enough Oliver was sleeping with another member of the team behind her back. But keeping her out of the loop was unacceptable.

Bart frowned as he watched her angrily bite into the candy bar. “You okay, ‘licious?”

“Fine,” Chloe replied. She finished the candy bar and reached for another one, calories be damned. It wasn’t like she planned on taking her clothes off for anyone any time soon.

Bart shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably. Even when Chloe was in her serious Watchtower mode, he could usually get her to crack a smile. But he could see that rims of her eyes were red and the hand that held the candy was shaking. “Bossman should be back soon from patrolling,” he said.

“He’s here.”

“Oh,” Bart said uncertainly. He wondered why Oliver hadn’t come in to ask him how the mission went. “What’s he doing?”

“Dinah,” Chloe replied before she could stop herself.

“What?” The jar of mayonnaise he’d been holding slipped from his hand and shattered against the ceramic tile, but Bart barely noticed. Eyes wide, he turned to Chloe in disbelief. “Are you serious?”

If she wasn’t so angry with herself for being stupid enough to fall for the Queen charm, Chloe might have felt bad for so crudely letting the cat out of the bag. But Oliver was going to find out she was here and she wanted him to know that she knew what (or in this case who) he’d been doing behind her back.

“I accidentally walked in on them,” she admitted. Saying the words out loud made her heart hurt and Chloe swallowed hard to force the lump back down her throat. She couldn’t cry about this in front of Bart. Or at all, she thought sternly.

“Wow,” Bart muttered. Ignoring the mayonnaise on the floor, he took the seat opposite Chloe. “That makes sense,” he said.

“It does?” Chloe asked sharply.

Bart nodded, absently reaching for one of the sandwiches he’d made. “You know how Bossman has been all serious and gloom and doom ever since Clark told everyone he killed Lex and then when…” He paused and looked at Chloe sheepishly. “Sorry.”

Chloe knew he was going to say when Jimmy died. “It’s all right, Bart. I know he felt guilty. We all did. Go on,” she encouraged. She needed to know how Oliver and Dinah being together made sense to Bart.

“Well lately, he’s been different. He’s still serious because of the whole aliens wanting to kill us all thing, but he’s been like the old Ollie. He’s fun and he smiles and he makes jokes. It’s been nice having him back and it makes sense that knowing he’s got a girl he cares about making him feel better,” Bart said.

Chloe felt the tears prickling in the corners of her eyes again and bit the inside of her cheek until she could calm down. She had noticed the change in Oliver too and she’d been so happy to have him back. She’d thought what was between them had been healing him like it had been healing her. Clearly that was just something else she’d been wrong about.

“Come to think of it, Dinah seems nicer too. I guess they both needed to get some,” Bart commented. He reached across the island and grabbed a bag of chips.

Chloe knew he expected her to laugh at his joke, but she couldn’t do it. There was no way she could face Oliver until she got a chance to get her emotions in check. She needed to come up with a story for why she was there and why she needed to leave and convince Bart to cover for her.

“Are you eating again?” Victor appeared in the doorway, nearly causing Chloe to fall out of her chair. He smiled when he saw her. “Hey Chloe. I didn’t know you were in town,” he said.

“It’s a night of surprises,” Chloe muttered. She was tempted to eat more candy, but there was a strong chance her stomach would rebel and the last thing she needed was to make herself feel worse than she already did.

Victor stepped up to the island and surveyed the food selection. “What’s everyone up to?” He grabbed a dish of leftover spaghetti and walked to the microwave to heat it up.

“Bossman and Dinah are totally getting it on right now,” Bart announced.

“Bart!” Chloe cried at the same time Victor shouted, “What?” and sent the bowl crashing to the floor. Like the mayonnaise, the bowl shattered sending pasta flying.

Bart laughed. “That explains the good moods doesn’t it?” He shoveled a handful of chips into his mouth.

Chloe was watching Victor carefully and the expression on his face was not the one she expected. He didn’t seem shocked or like he knew the whole time and was expecting the confirmation. Instead, he seemed angry. “Vic?” she asked cautiously.

Victor scowled and practically flung himself into the chair beside Bart. “I can’t believe she would do that to him,” he muttered.

“Do what?” Bart asked. He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. “Do you think they do kinky stuff?”

“Bart!” Chloe cried again. She rubbed her hands over her face. This whole conversation was beyond out of control. She never should have told Bart what she saw.

Victor glared at Bart. “I can’t believe she’s having sex with Ollie,” he muttered.

“Who’s having sex with Ollie?”

Three heads swiveled to the doorway. Dinah stood there in a long blue robe, her arms folded across her chest with an amused expression on her face that Chloe wanted nothing more than to beat off of her.

“You are,” Victor snapped. He watched her coldly. “How could you?” he demanded.

Dinah’s jaw dropped. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me,” Victor replied icily. “We know what’s going on, Dinah and it makes me sick. I always knew you could be a bitch, but I had no idea you could be this cruel.”

Chloe and Bart exchanged confused looks as Dinah stood gaping at Victor. They were definitely missing something. Chloe didn’t understand why Victor was so angry. He was usually collected and logical and not the type of person to resort to name calling.

“Listen carefully,” Dinah said slowly. She made her way to the island and glared at Victor. “I am not now - nor have I ever - having sex with Ollie.” She picked up Bart’s glass of orange juice and threw it angrily at Victor. He ducked and most of it splattered across the refrigerator behind him. “You know better,” she hissed.

“I thought I did!” Victor shouted.

“Why would you even say that?” Dinah demanded.

“Chloe totally saw you guys,” Bart supplied. He’d been watching the two go back and forth like a ping pong match.

Dinah turned sharply toward Chloe and she was momentarily reminded of the first time they had met and Dinah had tried to take her head off with a knife. That was quickly replaced by the image of Dinah and Oliver together and Chloe glared at the woman. She could deny it all she wanted, but Chloe knew what she saw.

“Really?” Dinah glared right back at Chloe. “Tell me, Chloe, when did this alleged sexual encounter take place and why exactly were you watching?” she asked snidely.

“About twenty minutes ago,” Chloe replied coolly. “I was looking for Oliver and I accidentally caught the show.”

Dinah shook her head and laughed coldly. “You know for someone who is supposed to be our eyes and ears, you clearly don’t see as well as you think you do.”

“Hey guys, how come no one told me there was a party?” AC asked. He stood smiling in the doorway dressed only in a pair of board shorts.

“Dude, put some clothes on. Some of us are eating,” Bart said.

AC glanced at the mess on the floor and the refrigerator. “It looks more like you’re dropping everything on the floor. Ollie’s going to kick your ass.” He turned and his smile widened when he saw Chloe. “Hey, I didn’t know you were here.” He maneuvered around Dinah and dropped in the seat next to Chloe. “How are you?”

“Nosey and smug,” Dinah answered.

“Huh?” AC glanced up at Dinah and saw the anger on her face. “What did I miss?” He turned back to Chloe and noticed she seemed just as mad. “Okay, someone fill me in.”

“I’d be happy to.” Dinah sat down on the other side of AC. “It seems Chloe here doesn’t understand the concept of privacy or the polite act of knocking on a closed door and she walked in and thought she saw me having sex with Ollie.”

“I’m not a moron, Dinah, no matter how much you’d like to portray me as one. I know what I saw,” Chloe snapped. She was more than tempted to throw something at the woman, but the only thing close enough was Bart’s bag of chips and that would not be satisfying enough.

Dinah laughed humorously. “You’re something all right, Chloe. Yes, you saw me having sex but it wasn’t with Ollie.”

“Really?” Chloe couldn’t believe that Dinah was still trying to lie her way out of this. The woman had nerve, but Chloe wasn’t about to let it go. “Then who was it?” she asked.

AC held up his hand. “Uh, that would be me,” he said.

“No freaking way!” Bart shouted.

Chloe’s jaw dropped and she looked back and forth between AC and Dinah in horror. AC’s cheeks were turning red and Dinah still looked like she wanted to rip Chloe’s head off. For the first time since that horrible moment when she’d walked into the bedroom, Chloe realized she’d never actually seen Oliver’s face. She had just assumed it was him because they were in his penthouse and she’d been too hurt to come up with any logical alternatives.

“I am so sorry,” she started. Chloe knew she owed them - especially Dinah - a lot more than that, but she was too embarrassed to know what to say.

“Wait a minute,” Bart said before Dinah or AC could respond. He turned to Victor. “You knew, didn’t you? That’s why you were so pissed at her when you thought she was with Ollie.”

Victor nodded. “Yeah.” He sent Dinah an apologetic smile. “Sorry about that. I guess I got caught up in the moment.”

“It’s not your fault,” Dinah said. She glared at Chloe again and then smiled at Victor. “I know you were just looking out for AC.”

AC grinned and reached for her hand. “Well the secret’s out. Is there any ice cream?” he asked.

Bart shook his head. “Sorry amigo, I ate it all before I made the burrito run.” He leaned over Victor and grabbed a plate of chicken wings. “I guess a secret girlfriend isn’t the reason for Bossman’s good mood after all.”

“Oh, I don’t know about that,” Dinah drawled.

Chloe stilled. She’d been wishing the floor would swallow her while simultaneously hoping everyone would calm down and go their separate ways so she could beg Dinah for forgiveness and then run as far away as she could. But something in Dinah’s tone told her things were about to get much worse. She looked up, her eyes wide, praying there was a chance Dinah might be a forgiving person and show her mercy.

Bart was grinning like a kid in a candy store. “Do you know who he’s been seeing?” he asked.

“No, but the woman who showed up in the middle of the night and freaked out at the idea of him being with someone else might,” Dinah said lightly.

So much for mercy, Chloe thought as all three men turned to stare at her. She could feel her face burning and she forced herself to meet their eyes. AC looked like he was trying not to laugh, Bart was staring at her like she’d grown another head and once again Victor looked like he wasn’t surprised by the information.

“No freaking way!” Bart shouted again.

Chloe didn’t know what to say. She had brought this on herself by jumping to conclusions and then behaving like a petty brat and sharing her misinformation with Bart. Everything had just snowballed from there and she wasn’t sure if this night could possibly get any worse.

“What the hell is going on?”

Of course it can, Chloe realized. All five of them turned to the doorway where Oliver stood, clad in loose fitting sweatpants glaring at the food that was all over the floor. The thought of having Oliver hearing everything that had transpired made her seriously consider trying to hide.

“Why is there food on the floor?” Oliver demanded. His eyes narrowed when he spotted the juice on the refrigerator. “What happened and why is there so much shouting? I’m trying to sleep!” His eyes landed on Chloe and widened in surprise. “Chloe.”

Her face was so hot she was surprised she hadn’t burst into actual flames. She managed a small smile. “Hi Ollie,” she said quietly.

Bart caught the way his expression softened and decided to run with it. “Hey Bossman, isn’t it great that everyone’s here? Pull up a chair,” he suggested.

Oliver looked around at the mess again and the wide range of expressions on his friends’ faces. He had obviously missed something big and judging by the way Chloe was blushing and Bart was looking at him, he had a feeling their secret was out. It was time to end the late night group session.

“You know what? I don’t want to know what’s going on,” Oliver said.  “Bart, clean up this mess and put the food away if you’re not going to finish it. The rest of you need to go to bed or just go somewhere and be quiet.” He pointed at Chloe. “You come with me.” His tone left no room for any of them to argue with him.

Chloe rose from her chair and tried not to look at anyone as she crossed the kitchen. Oliver impatiently grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the hallway. She noted he brought her the opposite way she’d originally come in, moving past his office and equipment room to an open door at the far end of that hallway.

He pulled her into the room, closed the door and before she could blink, Chloe found herself pressed up against it, Oliver’s mouth fused to hers for a hungry kiss. His fingers dug into her hips and he lifted her off her feet. She wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kisses, desperate to feel his lips against hers. He nipped her bottom lip gently, tracing his tongue over the same spot until her lips parted for him and his tongue slipped in to taste her.

Chloe let herself get lost in him, the tension and confusion of the night slipping away. He set her back down on her feet and his mouth trailed over her jaw and down her neck. She leaned her head back the best she could with the door in the way to give him better access, her fingertips threading through his hair.

“I missed you,” Oliver said against her skin, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses across her chest. His lips lingered over her heartbeat and Chloe realized she’d somehow missed him unbuttoning her shirt.

“Those hands of yours are pretty fast, Mr. Queen,” Chloe teased. She dropped her arms from his neck so he could slide the shirt down her shoulders and she let it slip to the floor.

Oliver grinned and pulled her into his arms for another kiss. His mouth lingered over hers, each long kiss stirring the desire that was already coiling in her stomach. His hands moved over her backside, pushing her body more firmly against his so she could feel his arousal. Her head was so filled with him that once again she didn’t realize what he was doing until she felt her skirt slide down her legs to pool at her feet.

“Sneaky,” Chloe said. She took his bottom lip between hers and bit down lightly, watched his eyes grow darker with need.

“Productive,” Oliver countered. He scooped her up into his arms, laughing when she gasped in surprise. Her skirt was still caught on her ankle, so Chloe pushed it off, kicking her shoes away in the process. As he carried her to the bed, Chloe’s mouth raced over his throat, savoring the taste of his skin.

He set her down gently on the bed before settling himself between her legs, careful to keep his weight on his knees so he didn’t crush her. She smiled up at him and Oliver leaned in to kiss her, softer than before. He caressed her cheek and kissed the corner of her mouth. “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered.

Chloe’s smile widened and she reached up to stroke his face. “So are you.” She pulled him close for another kiss. Her lips parted and he lazily swept his tongue over hers, drawing it out and savoring each stroke.

His mouth trailed down her neck to the valley between her breasts. He lightly traced the lacy edge of her bra, letting his fingertip graze over her exposed skin before running his tongue over her. Chloe gasped and arched up beneath him. He chuckled softly against her skin and continued to trail lazy kisses down her stomach. Her fingers slid into his hair, giving it a not so gentle tug.

“Too slow for you, Sidekick?” Oliver teased, lifting his head to meet her gaze. He let his hand slip between their bodies and cupped her mound through her panties, causing her to arch against him again as a moan slipped from her lips. He laughed when she tried and failed to glare at him.

“Sneaky,” Chloe said again, her breath hitching in throat.

“Guilty,” Oliver admitted. He covered her mouth with his while his hands slipped the straps of her bra down her shoulders. He reached beneath her and undid the clasp, quickly pulling the garment from her body and tossing it away. He stared down at her, his throat going dry at the sight of her bared before him. Her cheeks flushed with shyness and Oliver knew she had no idea how beautiful she was.

He lowered his mouth to take one of her pink nipples in his mouth. Her head fell back against the pillow, eyes closing as her breath became more ragged. His hand caressed her other breast while his mouth continued to lavish her. He switched sides to give her other nipple equal attention and her hand fisted in his hair.

“Ollie,” Chloe cried. She felt like she was going to burst from the inside out if he didn’t hurry. Her free hand moved over his bicep and up to his shoulder. His body was so hard and muscled and she loved touching him.

He moved down her body, hooking his fingers in her panties and pulling them down over her hips. He slid them completely off her body before dropping his head to kiss her thigh. Chloe shuddered beneath him as his mouth moved along her inner thigh toward the center of her heat. She nearly wept with relief when she felt his lips on her core only to move to her other thigh a second later.

“Tease!” Chloe cried in disbelief.

“Patience,” Oliver replied, running his tongue over her inner thigh. He looked up at her again with a mischievous glint in his eye. “Have I ever disappointed you, Sidekick?” he asked.

“No,” Chloe replied honestly.

“Then trust me,” Oliver said. He ducked his head again and pressed kisses over her center, his tongue darting out to lick his way along her slit. She writhed and nearly came undone when his mouth closed over her sensitive bundle of nerves. He suckled her, using his teeth on her as he slid one finger into her heat. She moaned and he slid another finger inside her. She bucked against his hand and he closed his mouth over her clit again. She came apart, calling his name as her orgasm shuddered through her.

Breathing hard, Chloe fell back against the pillow again, but Oliver wasn’t done with her yet. He kissed his way back up her body, his tongue teasing over her belly button before focusing his attention on her nipple. He licked the hardened bud and he noticed her legs spreading further apart.

“Come here,” Chloe ordered. She took his face in her hands and brought his mouth to hers. He kissed her hard and deep while her hands stroked the planes of his chest. She shifted closer to him and pressed kisses to his jaw, moving up until she reached the sensitive spot near his ear. She caressed it with her tongue and Oliver forgot how to breathe. “I want you inside of me,” she told him. She reached down and pushed his sweatpants over his hips.

He let go of her long enough to remove his pants and lowered himself between her legs again. She reached out and took him in her hand, her eyes never leaving his as she stroked him. Oliver swallowed hard and gripped her hips, spreading her legs wider. She guided him to her opening and he took the hand that held him in his and kissed her again before plunging into her wet heat.

Chloe gasped and Oliver stilled, easing himself in and giving her body time to adjust. She squeezed the hand that held hers and pressed a kiss to his wrist. He knew she was ready and he began to move inside her. She rocked her hips against him, rising up to meet him as he thrust into her, picking up the pace.

“You feel so good, Chloe,” Oliver whispered. He cupped her breast in his hand, squeezing until she moaned.

“Ollie,” Chloe moaned his name, letting her nails scrape over his back. She heard him hiss against her ear and she rubbed her hand over the thick muscles of his back.

He pressed a kiss to the side of her neck and surprised her by grabbing her legs and wrapping them around his waist. The new angle let him thrust deeper into her and Chloe cried out as a fresh wave of pleasure went through her. She gripped his shoulders for support as she got closer to the edge and Oliver’s fingers stroked her clit until he felt her walls clamping down around him.

“Come for me, Chloe,” Oliver said. He kissed her slowly, his tongue moving in and out of her mouth to the same rhythm as his fingers moved over her. He thrust into her again and Chloe came apart as the climax ripped through her. She flung herself forward, clinging to him as her body shuddered against his. Another deep thrust was all it took for Oliver’s vision to blur, snapping what was left of his control as his own orgasm erupted and sent him hurling over the edge.

Chloe lay quietly beside Oliver enjoying the feeling of his legs tangled with hers beneath the sheets and his arm wrapped possessively around her waist. His chest was pressed tightly against her back and she shifted even closer. He dropped a kiss to her shoulder and she turned to see him propped up on his elbow staring down at her. She smiled.

“Hi,” she said softly.

“Hi,” Oliver replied. He leaned down and brushed his nose lightly against hers. “Do you want to tell me what I walked in on earlier?” he asked.

Chloe’s smile faded. She had forgotten about everything except Oliver the second he pushed her up against the door. She cringed as the events of the evening came back to her. “Not really,” she said honestly.

Oliver raised an eyebrow. “That doesn’t sound promising.” He moved his hand in lazy circles over her stomach. “Let me try another question. What are you doing here, Chloe?” he asked.

That question wasn’t much better, Chloe thought. She should have known he would want to know why she had come and as much as she wanted to throw out some flimsy excuse, she knew she had to tell him the truth.

“It’s been a rough couple of days and I needed to get away from everything,” Chloe said. She considered leaving it at that, but she heard Lois scoffing at her in her head. She reached up and smoothed out his hair before letting her hand rest on his cheek. “I wanted to see you,” she admitted.

Oliver didn’t even attempt to hide the wide grin that broke out across his face. He lightly kissed the inside of her wrist. “You should have called me. I would have sent the jet.”

“I didn’t know I was coming until I was at the airport,” Chloe said. She dropped her hand from his face when her thoughts shifted back to the team. “Why didn’t you tell me everyone was here?”

“I wasn’t expecting any of them except for Bart and I was going to fill you in on his mission in the morning,” Oliver said. He moved his hand up from her stomach to play with her hair. “Did he mention how it went?”

“No,” Chloe replied absently. She winced when she realized he had managed to steer them back to the original topic she had wanted to avoid. “The conversation went in a different non-work direction,” she admitted.

Oliver nodded. “I got the feeling that our team of super friends knows about this.” He gestured between them.

Chloe bit her lip. She knew she should just come right out and tell him the whole story, but she was too embarrassed. “Yeah...” She paused, remembering something else from earlier. “I got the feeling that Victor already knew.”

“He did,” Oliver said with a shrug. “After Lois and Clark found out, I didn’t think it mattered if other people knew.” His hand stilled in her hair. “Was I wrong?”

Chloe heard the hesitation in his voice and she quickly shook her head, reaching up to take his hand in hers. “No, I don’t care if people know. But why did you only tell Victor?” she asked.

“He’s my closest friend next to you,” Oliver replied. Chloe tried to ignore the way her heart swelled at his words as he continued. “I’ve known him the longest except for Bart, but you can’t tell that kid anything. Vic’s easy to talk to and he will take a secret to the grave if you ask him to.”

“I can see that,” Chloe said. She thought about how he had known about AC and Dinah and her guilt bubbled back to the surface.

“I know that look,” Oliver said. He tapped a finger against her forehead. “What happened, Chloe? You know I’m going to find out.”

Chloe nodded. If Dinah didn’t tell him, Bart would and she knew he needed to hear it from her. “Okay, when I got here, I wanted to surprise you so I went into what I thought was your room and I walked in on something.” She couldn’t bring herself to look at him and stared down at their joined hands. “Dinah was…” She paused, her face burning again. “She was having sex with someone and I thought…”

“You thought it was me,” Oliver finished.

She turned and buried her face in his chest, feeling like the worst person ever for doubting him after everything he had done for her.. “I’m so sorry, Ollie.”

“Hey.” Oliver kissed the top of her head and gently pushed her back so he could look into her eyes. Chloe expected him to be angry and was surprised to see a soft smile on his face. “Chloe, you’re the only person I want to be with. Just you,” he said again for emphasis.

Her heart turned over in her chest and she felt the tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. Despite all her silly rules, Chloe realized how badly she’d needed to hear him say that. “You’re the only person I want to be with too,” she said quietly.

“Good,” Oliver replied. He brushed his lips lightly over hers. “How did the food get all over the floor?”

Chloe groaned. “I told Bart what I thought I saw and he told Victor and Vic got mad at Dinah and then she was furious with him and then me and it was a domino effect,” she said. She glanced at Oliver and saw that he was struggling not to laugh. “Ollie, it’s not funny.”

“Yes it is,” Oliver assured her. His hand slipped under the sheet to play with her breast. “I like this jealous side of you.” He smirked at her.

She glared and shoved his hand away. “I wasn’t jealous. I was mad. There’s a difference,” she insisted.

“You’re a terrible liar, Chloe.” In a swift move, Oliver grabbed her and rolled body over so she was sprawled across his.

She blew her hair out of her face and wanted to wipe the knowing smirk off her face, but when his fingers splayed over the sensitive skin on her lower back, she knew she was done for. “Fine, I was jealous. Happy?”

“Careful, Sidekick,” Oliver teased. He rubbed his nose against hers and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “I’m going to start thinking you’re falling for me.”

She covered his mouth with hers before he could say another word.
