Hi everyone! I recently had my room painted/carpet cleaned, so I'm in the process of moving everything back in. I really want to have set theme in my room - international/travel/world/whatever you want to call it ( Read more... )

What about adding textiles from Afghanistan? And possibly adding the zen factor too for Asia?
You might get some inspiration from The Rainforest Site (http://www.therainforestsite.com) (sorry if that doesn't work)
Use beige colors, earthy tones, etc.

Yeah, I wish I could order more from that site =(
Another idea is adding a wooden bead curtain / or bamboo against a wall, or something.

Definitely do a beige, or pale yellow for walls though

I think if you find your favorite item either the map or something from your trips then look at the colors in it. Anytime that you go to add anything to your room make sure it is similar to that. In my opinion color ties everything together.

umm another idea i thought of would be to get a huuuge world map i mean huge big enough to take up most of the wall... and mark all the places you have been but instead of it being a tack use something from the place... whether it is part of a plane ticket or picture of ur favorite thing there. Anything can work as a marker.

Oooh. I was about to suggest this. Awesome Idea. Travel is awesome! You could also get cushion covers, ornaments from exotic countries. (You might already have these, since you can find those Elphant cushion covers all over Thailand.)

Hmm... I have a few Travel orientated things in my room. Just little simple things.

I have a wall stencil/sticker of London, and a Razeration of some French Rooftops... Oh and a lanten that reminds me of London also.

I think the Map idea sounds awesome. The brown coloured maps seem quite common, and they do look pretty cool.

Other than that, perhaps like a Bonzai tree, posters of places, also! Postcards can look quite cool if you get a piece of string, and attach the two ends to the wall, and use pegs, paperclips etc to hang them off it...

Other than that I'm blanking, sorry. =)

I got the Calendar from Smiggle.com.au - It's an Australian shop.

You'll have to show us all how it went when you are done. =)
