My love/hate relationship with promotional images

My first thought: There's nothing wrong with this picture.

My second thought: But if you say that, you're going to get dogpiled with people saying bad things about it and trying to make you hate it even though you actually think it's cool. Not worth it. Hit back and do something else.

My third thought: No, dammit, I like this promo and I'm going to say so. I hate how people who like things are always afraid to speak up in this fandom.

I love these promos. I really do. I admit what other people don't like, but because of those reasons, I like them. xD I remember when the second trailer came out last year, the one with 11 and Amy swirlin' around in blue sparkly fields, and I went crazy. People called it tacky and weird, I freaking loved it. Hell, I've got a very nice and glossy poster of it!

Ooh, do you have a link? I actually don't remember any of last year's promos. I was in full on HIDIN' FROM FANDOM mode because I didn't want to hear all the hate for The Waters of Mars and The End of Time, because I loved them a lot, and I also didn't want to hear the preemptive hate for Eleven. That's the problem with hiding from fandom, you miss all the cool stuff!

That's exactly why I don't check any of the main Doctor Who fandom things anymore (or if I do, I avoid the comments).

For a show that's (supposedly) so well loved, the majority of what I'd see were people picking it apart to find something to hate/be offended by/complain about, rather than enjoying it. And then someone pipes up with "but I liked it" and everyone gets all "well that's because you're stupid/sexist/immature/insensitive/whatever the topic-of-offense flavor of the day is". :(

I'll just stick to here and dw_cosplay, because they're about funny/positive things rather than people crapping all over a thing they claim to "love".

The photo is lovely, but all I really want to know is, if this is a reflection, why aren't the words on the TARDIS flipped?! And the Doctor's hair is parted on the wrong side! For some reason this really bugs me, lol.

When I first saw this, I thought it looked a bit like the promotional posters for the Order of the Phoenix.
