I have to admit, I was scared of the Creature when I first saw this series on PBS (when I was 8), and it stayed with me till I was able to watch the series as an adult (when I was 30-uhm), at which point I said WTFreud??? and got over it.

I'm right with you - doesn't help that I had somehow in my young imagination combined it with the cultists from "Masque of Mandragora."
