Wait, I thought Mike Nelson was Destroyer of Worlds? And then there's this Fluffy guy, and the Doctor, and...

Quite simple. Mike Nelson is a future regeneration of the Doctor. While temping for Dr. Forrester - to see if temping was all Donna made it out to be - Dr. F shoots him up into space, without his sonic screwdriver or access to his TARDIS. Not that he remembered them, because he had stupidly used the chameleon arch to make his temping experience "more authentic."

After he makes it back to Earth, he and the bots open the fob watch, ditch their garden-level apartment and take to traveling again in the TARDIS. He eventually regenerates, and the bots, ever screwing with his life, somehow cause him to regenerate into Fluffy.

See? Simple. XD
