Danny was not, actually, raiding vending machines. Having finally managed to get back from the bar - and after a minute or two trying to ascertain that he really was back in the studio, and that opening another door he wasn't going to end up in yet another strange place that shouldn't be there - he'd gone to grab the nurse for Jordan to see if there was anything she could do without the B-12 shot. And he'd had to find someone to get Jordan home, because she certainly couldn't drive herself home in her condition ( ... )

No, for all its seeming randomness, pacing has direction. It has discipline.

It does not have collision. That's what walking and chewing your figurative ball of gum will get you.

"Whoa!" And once the shock of having walked into a slapstick routine wears off, "Where were you?" Matt blinks. "Are you rumpled? This early?"

Danny stumbles backward, giving Matt a faintly startled look. It takes a minute to recover his dignity, and he decides to ignore Matt's last comment altogether - as long as he doesn't acknowledge those comments, maybe Matt will give up. Maybe.

"Jordan... wasn't feeling well. She had to go home, I was helping her get a cab."
