Brilliant(?) new idea -- have the new 'epilogue' (i.e. the left-over/delayed matter from Chapter 3) seen through Gustave's point of view rather than Christine's. We've had two chapters of Christine's PoV already, and using the child's-eye view of his parents opens a whole new set of possibilities

Ah, but having her echo the line from PoTO would be so cool if it could work. It has a lot of resonance.

Well, looking back at the beginning of Chapter 3 I see that I've actually written Christine -- sweet Christine! -- as being concerned for Meg's welfare at the start of her Gustave-hunt... so it might actually be workable.

It would fit beautifully with what I'm trying to do with Meg in Chapter 4.
