Malfoy looks at him like he despises him-not The Boy Who Lived, not the hero, but him-and Harry needs that, craves that uncomplicated hate, that clean repugnance
I really love the concept that Malfoy's hate for Harry means more than anyone's because of its personal nature. Voldemort and Lucius and Bellatrix don't even remotely know Harry, it's all about The Boy Who Lived. But Draco hates Harry Harry Harry and I can so see why such an intense personal regard -- even one of a negative nature -- would be so appealing to someone who has so few people whom he can trust to treat him like a person rather than a figurehead.
That's all a really long, complicated way of saying that I liked this. ^_~
