Harry Potter 7 tiny latelatelate reaction post

I finally got around to reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows the last day or two, and I finished it a little while ago. What an immense disappointment! I especially dislike the epilogue.

A brief bit of bitching (SPOILERS) )

Just do what I do, either incorporate the epilogue and just have both harry and draco divorced, or go Epilogue? What epilogue? or EWE. Yeah, even my 9 year old hated the epilogue.

Yeah, I'm totally going to go the EWE route and ignore it. (I think Rowling might have accidentally included the ending of some n00b's crappy hetfic at the back of the book, so I think it's best to just discard it.)

I agree with everything you said here. I've been wondering if JK has become less interested in the books and more interested in the movies... it just felt like parts of DH were there so that parts of the movie wouldn't be spoiled. Or maybe I'm just hoping that they'll change all of the really horrible parts and make it better.

I read DH when it came out and all I really remember is that Ron, Harry, & Hermione sit in a tent and bitch and whine for most of the book. I'm sure that can't really be what happened, but that's what I remember. *laughs*

Yeah, maybe working on something for such a long time just got boring after a while. I think Rowling was ready to just get HP finished so she could move on; that's the best explanation I can think of to explain why Deathly Hallows fell so short of my expectations.

...And, having just finished the book, I can tell you with great certainty that your recollection of it is pretty much exactly what happened! ^___~

Oh, good idea! It's either that or some bad hetfic accidentally got included in the back of the book. Either way, I'm not counting it as canon.

EWE?

XD

I totally hate the epilogue. And I have to say that was really dissatisfied by the whole book. Where's our Draco/Harry overtones, Rowling?! XP
