much more complex than that... the Best Friend/Maid of Honor who introduced the couple was sleeping with the Groom-to-Be ^__^ after years of thinking that she wasn't even remotely good enough to be his type and thus such notions never crossed her mind... until... her 30th birthday party, of course.

okay, okay...so not really much more complex than what you'd stated...just longer.
Complexities only come in when you discover why it was the Bride-to-be hadn't picked up on this betrayal for months.
