Fans of White Collar, Hustle, and Leverage (and she's still not around!)

I have been reliably informed that I have not been around. Sorry, sorry, I am distracted lately! On top of changes-at-work-stress, it is time for the endocrinologist and the usual attendant bout of sulks. I have seen Avengers twice, though?

But I come bearing bribes! I have picked up multiple copies of The Big Con which I already own, as does ( Read more... )

*waves* Not claiming, because I already have it, but yes! +1 to your rec. Clearly I need to re-read, because I'm drawing a complete blank at "Dog in a Bar," but The Big Con is the reason I roll my eyes anytime anyone says, "Never con a con," because srsly, that was what cons did for kicks.

(Good luck with the endocrinologist!)

Dog in a bar is the one where your buddy goes into a bar and asks the bartender to watch his dog while he goes to an interview. Then you come in and go wild over the dog which is clearly a purebreed whatever and offer to buy it off the bartender, who of course can't sell it. So you leave your card in case he changes his mind. Your buddy comes back, dejected and broke and he and the dog are going to get tossed on the street and... instead of passing on the card the slightly dishonest bartender offers to buy the dog for less than you offered, planning to call you and make a profit. Only of course the card's a fake, and the bartender is out whatever he's just bought the dog for.

Conning each other was very much what cons did for kicks, yes. :)

(Thanks. Blah.)

Hmm, if you still have an extra copy, I would like one. This... is not some sort of con, is it? ;-)
