at what point do I give up on this book?

Is it when the hero's first impression of the heroine is that she makes him "tight in his jeans"? How about when the hero follows up on this oh-so-sexy introduction with a phone call to his mom, during which he bemoans the large number of one night stands he's had and which are not in keeping with how mom raised him? What on earth are you reading? That sounds worse than the stuff I read, and I've read some pretty horrible chick-lit. Is this a book club book?

Nah, I'm doing this to myself. I'm going through strips I grabbed from closing the store -- the thing is, I snagged things that looked interesting, regardless of whether or not I'd heard of the book/author before. This is not a strategy I recommend.

...that's how I pick most of my summer reading. :-D I'm also a huge fan of the free books on kindle. Those are absolutely atrocious, and yet oh so entertaining.

... no, the werewolf is the hero of the second book in the series. The nurse is just an idiot. The hero turns into a bird sometimes, though, in a non-plot-significant way. (You might be tempted to think I am lying, but I assure you I am not. The book is just this amazing.)

I put it in the recycling, then fished it back out because I had to know if it got worse. Also, my sister wants to borrow it now.
