Dream 40
Rhea stood I front of that door, staring at it for nearly two minutes. She hesitated to knock on it although her small fist had been moving to and fro for thirtieth times, perhaps.
She had just gathered her strength to knock on it when someone opened it from inside. She quickly masked her face with a friendly expression.
“Oh, hi!” Rhea could tell that the girl - the door-opener - was never expected to meet her there. “Anything I can help?” she asked politely.
Like an operator. Rhea smiled. “Aa….,” again, she was hesitated to say it out.
“Hmm?”
“Is Shizuka here? Can I meet her?”
“Of course you can,” Yuuki smiled. “Come in first,” she invited Rhea in. “Have a seat. I’ll call her. She’s sleeping on my bed. We just finished our study,” Rhea just nodded until the girl was out of her view. Rhea released a deep breath as she leaned against the soft sofa.
A few minutes later, Yuuki came back with a tray of drink and some biscuits. Following her was Shizuka who was tidying her hair. Soon as her eyes met Rhea’s, Shizuka froze. Is it a dream?
Seeing her froze, Rhea quickly approached and hug Shizuka - ex-best friend. Yuuki who knew nothing of the matter just looked with a question-marked expression. Later, she sat herself down on the nearby chair, not to miss the precious drama scene.
“Shizu, I’m sorry,” Rhea hugged Shizuka tight. “I’m really sorry. Will you forgive me?” she looked straight to Shizuka’s kind-of-lost face.
“Rhea,” Shizuka pushed Rhea’s head gently which currently landed on her shoulder.
“Will you?” she asked again.
Shizuka smiled. “Of course, I will.” She wiped Rhea’s tear that started to roll down her cheek with her right thumb. “You’re my friend. Plus, we shall always forgive each other, right?”
Rhea slowly nodded. She agreed with it. But why is it so hard for me to do so?
“I’m sorry for everything,” Rhea sobbed. “Please forgive me.”
Shizuka gently rubbed her hair. “It’s fine, my dear friend. I’ve forgiven you…,” she paused a while before continuing “…long ago.”
Rhea felt that she could not face Shizuka anymore. She felt so guilty as well as shamed for her own manner towards a loving friend.
“CUT!”
Three pairs of eye turned to Miki who was coming into the ‘shooting scene’. “Yosh, enough of it!” she came forward and patted the two girls.
“You guys better have a cup of this Yuuki-made tea before it becomes cold,” she poured it into five cups and took a sip from one of it. “You know what, Yuuki’s tea is nowhere to be found. plus nobody can beat hers. You better come quickly or else I’ll finish it!” Miki promoted the tea efore taking another sip.
Baka! Of course you can’t find it anywhere for Yuuki is only one! Yuuki unconsciously smiled alone.
“Hey! Why are you smiling alone? Not good, you know!” Luisa cut Yuuki’s trance. She brought another tray of food. Yuuki grinned and moved towards the small table.
“Um! Yummy!” Miki bounced. Her hand quickly grabbed a pair of spoon and fork and was ready to eat the meal.
“Shizuka! Rhea!” the two girls who were having a heart-to-heart talk turned their head instantaneously as they head Luisa’s call.
“Or else…,” Miki carved a naughty grin. “…I’ll finish it all!”
“You’re glutton!” Luisa slightly whacked her. Miki just grinned as she watched Rhea and Shizuka walked side by side approaching them. Like a couple! She giggled.
“Hey, that’s not good too!” Yuuki copied Luisa. Miki grinned. “He...he...”
“Girls, thank you so much,” Rhea bowed a bit soon as she took her seat. “You’ve did much for me.” She bowed once more.
“It’s totally fine, Rhea,” Luisa threw a smile to her. “Ain’t it, Yuuki?” Yuuki nodded, with a warm smile on.
“Yuuki only? Me?” Miki butted in, asking with a full mouth.
“Yeah, you too,” Luisa pretended to sigh. “Don’t talk with full mouth,” she reminded her. Miki grinned.
“By the way, I have something to tell you guys,” Rhea suddenly spoke out. Her serious tone made everyone looked at her at once.
“I’m going back to Sweden.”
Everyone’s jaw nearly dropped. “Are you sure?” they asked in chorus.

Midori Daigaku main hall was crowded with students. They sounded pretty much like bees buzzing around, muttering to each other something others would not know.
The market-like noisy atmosphere became as silence as graveyard soon after the microphone echoed. Later, a guy came forward and delivered a short welcome speech before inviting Kota. Kota came out from behind the stage with papers in his hand.
“Starting for this semester, our administration had made some change in the order of faculties and classes. For the very first time boys and girls were put in the same class under same roof. Since the girls had been given a wider opportunity of voicing out their ideas, a Student Council Club for girls had been established. And they’ve been carrying out their job pretty well until some unexpected events happened,” Kota paused.
“I’m sure that you all had heard rumours saying that there’s chaos and squabble between Students Council Clubs - the girl club and the boy club,” He looked around the hall only to receive cold looks from the students. They were staring at him as they were saying ‘it was your entire fault’. Kota gulped before he continued.
“Well, I admitted that we’re wrong. And I really that you guys can willingly forgive us,” Again, he was looking around for response but what he received was a colder and even bitter look.
“After some meeting and discussion, we finally realized that arguing and quarrelling would never fruit in anything. So, today I would like to proudly announce that we had agreed for a club combination!” he stressed the last part. Slow applause could be heard as the students were still had those bitter look on.
“I, Yabu Kota, the Club President @ Head of Students Council will now announce the committee members. First is Yaotome Hikaru, Vice President I, in charge of boys. Next is Moriaki Chihara, Vice President II, in charge of girls,”
Both appeared on the stage, slightly bowed. Loud applaud was heard when Chihara stepped out, indicating how much the students loved her. Kota looked around to notice that the bitter look had slowly vanished.
“Next are Yoshiro Hikari as secretary and Inoo Kei as treasurer,”
Both came forward simultaneously. Hikari carved a wide smile and bowed a bit. Kei winked his left eye which made the girls went ‘kyaaa~~~’.

They lined up next to each other as their name was called one by one. But then…
“….Sakura Yume is not in the list?”
“…don’t tell me they kick her out…”
“…why she not listed? I love her so much…”
“…she’s such a good leader...”
“…how dare them…”
The audience muttered as they realized that Yume’s name was not announced.

Hana girls were standing next to each other in front of their complex compound.
“Bye, Rhea! See you again later,” they waved and wished in chorus.
Rhea waved back to them from inside the taxi. Her eyes started to become blurring but she tried very hard to not crying. You’ve promise yourself, Rhea. She threw her sight towards them but her mind was not there.
“Rhea, take care!” Another voice penetrated her eardrum. Rhea turned only to see Ryosuke waved at her. She bit her lower lips to prevent her tears from rolling down.
“You deserve Ryosuke. Take care of him. I won’t butt in between you guys anymore,” Rhea remembered that phrase she whispered to Shizuka just now. Rhea closed her eyes and opened it back. Ryosuke was still there, smiling warmly at her.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” Miki asked Ryosuke and the three boys following him.
“We’re just accompanying him,” Yuto answered instantly. Yuri and Ryutaro nodded.
Luisa turned instantaneously and her eyes met Yuto’s. Miki looked at the nodding Ryutaro and their eyes met. Shizuka tilted her head to Ryosuke who was staring at her from beginning and her eyes were locked to his. Yuuki, who was standing at the most right, looked at Yuri for once only to notice his smile for her. Slowly she curved a smile back to him….
Rhea witnessed the moment from inside the taxi. She slowly raised the window and asked the driver to make a move.
May God bless you guys forever… She silently prayed.

“We have another announcement,”
The hall became silent at once. Kota invited a middle-aged guy in suit to come forward.
“I, on behalf of administration, will like to congratulate Sakura Yume for her success in study as well as competing with others until she managed to steal a place in Oxford University.”
Applause could be heard as he finished his word.
“Congratulation, Yume-chan!”
“Ganbatte ne!”
“We’ll miss you!”
Chihara squealed and hugged Yume. Her eyes accidentally met Hikaru’s who was smiling from Yume’s back.
Haruka and Daiki were so happy for Yume that they forgot they were on the stage when they happily dancing around, hand-in-hand.
As for Kei, he spontaneously grabbed the nearest hand which turned to be Rui’s. As both realized what had happened, they stared at each other for a while before the awkward moment was neutralized by Reiko’s sudden disturbance.
Kota was nearly hugged Hikari who just a few inches from him because of joyful overload.
“It is not proper to show affection in public, you know,” Hikari reminded him which made he pulled back his right arm. Kota just grinned, embarrassed of his own action.
Seeing all her friends were happy, Machiko felt like joining too so she wandered her eyes around the stage to steal a glance of Yuya. Unfortunately for her, their eyes were locked together as soon as she found his face for Yuya had stared at her for a while. She could feel that her cheek turned slightly pink but she now had dare to make eye contact with him, no more looking at the floor or hiding face. Yuya curved a smile as he was very happy. One was for Yume and the second one of their progress.
From a corner, Mayuko could clearly see Keito in the crowd of the audience. Nobody knew when he sneaked into the hall except for Mayuko whose eyes never move away from the main entrance door.
