Awesome story. I adored your characterization of Richard and how he doesn't understand new technology (kind of reminded me of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.)

Your vision of Jacob, and why he needs the dead was both chilling and fascinating.

Loved the relationship between Ethan and Richard, and how Richard was actually his father.

New and proved John Locke can't stop talking in general. So Richard stops listening.

That line made me giggle! ^_^

Loved the ending; nice to see a story like this end happily for once.

Great job!

Any time I see a Richard!fic I usually stop to have a read, and this time I'm especially glad that I did, because this is wonderful! Your Richard is very well written, and I love the way you've brought him together with Amy. That's an unlikely pairing, but it works. Making him Ethan's father is also really different, but I like that. Maybe it explains why he seemed like such a bloodthirsty kid when he and Ben were preparing to attack Danielle. :) Richard's line
“Ben, I haven't known what to do in centuries.” seemed very true. In canon, he does seem to know what's what, to a point, but things continue to astonish him. It'll be interesting to learn more about him!

Thanks for sharing this! I really enjoyed it. :)

I liked this a lot; disturbing in places, funny in others and very original. I'd never considered that Richard might be a little out of touch with the modern world - nice idea. And Richard being Ethan's father does explain why Ethan became an Other (Amy's taste in men clearly isn't so bad after all...). :-)

I like the economy of language here, and you write dialogue very well (you can tell you're a playwright). Awesome stuff.

What a fascinating take of Richard and island history. There was such a nice mix of wry humour and tragedy. I just loved this this.
