MAJOR PRAYER REQUEST AND ADVICE NEEDED, yet again

It's been decided, I am indeed applying for boarding school next year, one in Mass. and another in NH. It's heck lot of work, I don't know how I am going to go throught every testing, essays, application itself, and I don't know how the teachers will write the recommendations. However, if God let ( Read more... )

ooo people actually CHOOSE to go to boarding schools? did not know that.
applications arent that bad, they're just annoying when you have to write the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and..you get my point

Honeybear, I wish you the best of luck. I didn't have to go through applications yet because at community college basically anyone is accepted, but I will be going through that application time soon-- I know it is as stressful as hell-- just let God take care of it. Believe me, I know how hard this sounds, I am starting to freak out already.

I know. Like I guess what I think is bad, when I say its bad response. Because you know, I try, but I can never see the forest like God does.. you know?

I'm over my Head.

Remember to write in active voice, and avoid frivolous filler because they won't care. Keep it short, simple and to the point.

yes ma'am =]
I have been told that I have a clear voice of my own, which I think will help. Thanks for the advice; it really is appreciated. =]

You will want to use action verbs and use adjectives and adverbs very sparingly. It's good that you have a clear voice when writing. It makes things go so much more smoothly.

why should adj and advs used sparingly? Does it make the writing become more smoother?

I don't quite know what their criteria is. When I applied for university they basically wanted me to tell them why I chose them, what I think I can achieve and what I'd like to do once I've got my degree.
I could perhaps give you more advice if you'd tell me what you're meant to write about :)

haha all right.
i have to pick 2 topics from 5 given one they are
1. what's ur favorite word. why?
2. look outside your window. what woul dyou like to change aobu tit?
3. pick a time when you felt overwhlemd. how did you get over it? what did you learn from it?
4. write a note to the exeter about yourself
5. write about a topic of importance to you

I am thinking of either
i don't know what to choose, although 5 seems good, if i can find a good topic. outside my window,, is a pretty darn good of a neighborhood. so its not gonna work out.
i dont think ill write a note to the exeter about myself.. just cause that i think can be topic.

does that help you to help me? =]
thank you =]

Well, I personally would probably choose either 1 or 3 and definitely 5.
The most important thing is to basically express yourself clearly, don't draw/drag it out too much, keep it nice and simple. Make sure you're consistent and don't repeat things just so that you have a certain length of text.
Hmm, I can't really think of anything else, but if I do, i'll let you, or if you still have any questions, feel free to ask! :)
I hope I could be of some help.

Oh my gosh you're going (maybe) to boarding school and leaving me?! Esther! I hate you!
Just kidding. I love you. :)
Isn't boarding school super expensive though?
But you should definently apply to Exeter. One of the top boarding schools out there.
