I know, I know, I just posted recently, but I'm posting again with my icons for inspired20in20! This post = the biggest proof that I have no distinct style whatsoever, but I guess I'm... kind of okay with that? Anyway, the theme was "nostalgia," so I picked a show that gives me all the feelings: Friends.

[Why I picked the show and my thought process with these icons.]I remember religiously watching this show in the late 'Read more... )

Oh wow! I love this set! How gorgeous is it? Answer: super gosh darn gorgeous!
I am in love with #11 (and pretty much all the variations, tbh)! The composition is so complex and creative and awesome! Not too crowded and super fun! #5 and #6 are really great as well; the coloring in both is flawless! And the last two? Well, they are both fantastic, and the last one especially definitely gets across the bitter sweet nostalgic feeling. Great job! ♥

Thank you so much! 11 was such a pain in the butt to figure out because I got really stuck halfway through, but I'm glad it came out okay and that you like it.

oooh *.* I'm such a sucker for cut outs at the moment, so major flailing over 1, 6 (favourite!!! textures work amazingly) and 16. Your composition and colouring in all of these though is super pretty, basically this is a gorgeous post! :3

I'm so glad you like them, and thank you! I really acquainted myself with background extraction/replacement for these icons, but it was a lot of fun experimenting with ways to make it look fun, and texture work. :D

This post is so cool cuz I've never imagined anyone doing crazy compositions with Friends caps! 17 is absolutely hilarious with the slightly silhouetted moustache. The graininess in it just right, too, and I like that you went for muted tones there. 14 is pretty perfect as well. The lighting on TurkeyHead!Monica is tremendous and really sets her apart from the rest of the icon. 11 is fierce and fresh and so out there! It reminds me of spittingfish's compositions and coloring, and that is a major compliment! I love the fiendish vibe that really complements the text! I love the use of B/W in 9 that makes Joey stand out from Chandler. The dotted texturing is really great, too, and I love the zany text positioning! Totally dig the alt with that pointy blue texture, too! The contrast and softness in 19 is very appropriate for that particular cap. It feels very angelic and sweet, which harkens back to that scene of Ben looking up at everyone for the first time. So cute and pretty!

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with the caps when I first signed up with Friends, but I decided I wanted to experiment a little and have fun. These are like a mad scientist's results when they're experimenting: some "meh," but some really random stuff that I'm pretty proud of too. And y'know, I didn't really think much of it at the time, but after seeing this comment and looking again at my icons I think I actually was inspired by both spittingfish and alisea_dream in a few of the icons, namely 9, 11, 12 and 14. That's definitely a huge compliment, so thank you for that and this whole comment!

Thank you! There need to be more Friends icons floating around the icon community. I'm just glad I could be a small part of that.
