I did this meme around the same time last year, and I think I want to make it a yearly tradition because it's a really cool way to end the fic-year. Last year I came through for all but one request (which is still in my pending folder because I will not give up), and some were small pieces while others were full out fics.

It's so fucking ridiculous. Bob knows it even as she keeps playing through the heat and the pain. She should get up and have someone get a doctor or something. Because, really, it hurts. A lot. She knows there's something seriously bad happening to her skin, and she knows she's being stupid, but she doesn't stop playing

Here's a story about why I love Courtney Love (no, really):

When I saw Hole play with Marilyn Manson in 1998 or whatever, Hole was opening for Manson, right? It was his show. And, I think partially because of that, I think that Courtney brought up girls in bands three or four times. I KNOW that once, she made every girl in the audience who was in a band scream. then she yelled at the boys who screamed and said: "I was asking them, assholes" and did it again. AND THEN she made every girl that could sing or play an instrument scream. And then she asked what the fuck we were waiting for.

And then she gave away the two guitars she had played so far in the show and said: "I wanna see you on this stage in two years."

You know, Courtney has had her moments of being Hot Mess, but I don't even care because she really did her part to empower an entire scene of girls/women in a way that we were never empowered before.
