This is all so fascinating! A few years ago I was hanging with a group of people from all over the country and we started talking about the Miss Suzy song. It was incredible the differences and similarities between versions from states like Florida, Tennessee, Washington, etc. I wondered to myself if anyone had done any research or written anything about it (where did I even learn that rhyme? Where did ANYBODY learn it? We just knew it. So interesting)
