Un-betaed and my first CSI:NY fic, so please be gentle, but all concrit welcome. Episode one of season Five of CSI: New York, called Veritas aired here in the UK recently and inspired this bit of crack.

In the episode (for those who didn’t see it), Mac Taylor is being held hostage by a bank robber, and is left for dead in a vehicle rapidly filling ( Read more... )

Ha, you're right, the reason is far more obvious:). Well, at least Mac will get a proper teacher (and Mathew a proper student :)). By the way, whose idea was the bullet's slowing down? Maybe Mac already has a Watcher, too :). (I've always thought that they should keep Watchers in such a powerful labs, for explaining the unexplainable. Or for letting people out of the autopsy :))

Thanks for the story, it was a good way to start the day:).

LOL, maybe he has! I think it was Lindsay who said it, she could definitely be a Watcher.

That idea was one of the reasons it made sense to me for Grissom and Ducky to be Watchers (Griss was in a one shot I wrote for my Highlander 50 table).

I remember Griss' shot (though I don't remember where and when I found the link :)), it was very Grissom like:). He is a Watcher type person, more scientist than a hero, unlike Mac or especially Horatio:).

Definitely, he's more about quiet dignity than overt heroics.

Don't get me started on Horatio, he annoys me sometimes with his maverick behaviour, all 'I promise to help you' and all. And those sunglasses. *grin*

This is very fun, and far more plausible than the explanation on the show!

Thanks hun. I'm sure their explanation's accurate, but it does seem really unlikely...

Of course that's what happened - I'm surprised i didn't see it! Nicely done and I like the previous relationship with Mathew

Thank you hun. Mathew and Mac just seemed like they'd get along, and it saved all the awkward explanations *g*. I've also always thought that Gibbs and Mac might get along too, given their similar character traits and shared Marine background.

Did you see the CSI:NY episode when the Marine was murdered in the park - I swear I kept waiting for Mac to call Gibbs in to take over.LOL

It's always a bonus when you don't have to do the big Immortal 101 talk!

Exactly!

Oh, yeah, I saw that ep, I kept wondering why the case wasn't turned over to NCIS (and thinking what a great crossover it would be). The whole jurisdiction thing really confuses me sometimes!

Oh, my! You crossed Highlander with my favorite CSI!
And you did it so, so right. Yeah, I did wonder too *laughs*
I like it a lot, thanks for light up my working hours ;)
