i apologise to those who have been using internet explorer and looking at this journal. for some reason it makes all the writing bunched up together and doesn't put line breaks in the paragraphs even though when i go to edit it in internet explorer, there are line breaks there. whatever. too confusing. so now i'm just going to use double line breaks instead.
in other news: does anyone picture tom felton and daniel radcliffe (or any of the actors depending on which ship) when reading fics? because i don't and don't know whether anybody else does either. it changes depending on the story and their attitudes, but most of the time i imagine draco to be really tall with long hair and harry to be way smaller and all anime looking. and i know there's no reason to associate the characters with the actors just because the books were made into a film, but they are used in things like icons and banners and the like, so yeah... just wondering.
and this may seem like a random stupid question, but is the word jeez short for jesus? like "oh jeez" would actually have been "oh jesus" or "oh jesus christ!?"

It was a cold, crisp Autumn morning and she was lost. She tried to remember why she had thought it a good idea at the time to ignore her husbands best efforts to run through the directions with her. Probably because he was getting on her nerves thinking that she’d get lost without his help. He thought correctly, and now she was walking around the huge park, suitcase trailing behind her and she knew she looked a fool in her fitted suit and high heels.
Spotting two tiny figures in the distance, she began making her way towards them in hope that they’d be able to point her in the right direction to the hotel she was meant to be attending a conference at. She saw a tinier dot and quickly figured out that the couple was here to walk their dog. As she got closer it became apparent that what she had presumed to be a man and woman was actually two men. This unnerved her slightly and she hung back, now in two minds whether she felt safe enough to approach them. The park was empty save for them and now that the sun was rising later as Winter neared ever closer, it was still quite dark. On the other hand, there was nobody else around to ask and if she missed this meeting she could quite guarantee that by the next morning she’d be pouring over the job prospects in the local paper. With this thought hanging over her, she was all set to continue to approach them but something else distracted her. It was the sight of the two men and how enraptured they were with another. The brunette, who looked like the smaller of the two, was wrapping his arms around the blond’s neck, who then wrapped his own arms around the brunette’s waist and pulled him closer, presumably (as she was not close enough to confirm) for a kiss.
The dog was running in circles around them and occasionally jumping up and pawing at the couple, who finally broke their embrace and bent down to play with the dog. The woman smiled in spite of her worries and began to walk over to them again. It was getting lighter by the minute but the only attention she drew to herself was from the dog, whether she’d stepped on some twigs and it had heard them snap or whether it had simply spotted her with extra sharp canine eyes she didn’t know. What she did know however, that it was now bounding towards her so fast that it took her a while to register what was happening before she dropped the suitcase handle and ran, screaming in fright. She had been too young to remember, but the scars on her arm reminded her all to well what of she had suffered from the jaws of a dog when she was three.
“Hey!”
She didn’t look behind her and she had no intention of stopping but she felt a hand clamp down on her shoulder suddenly and whirl her around. She was met with the brunette, and instantly felt better when she saw worry contorted all over his features. Snatching a look behind him, she saw the blond on his knees attaching a collar around the dogs neck who was licking him affectionately.
“I’m sorry,” said the brunette. “He wouldn’t hurt you, he’s not vicious at all.”
The woman shook her head. “It’s okay. I just got a bit of a fright, that’s all.”
The man smiled apologetically. “I’m Harry,” he said, offering his hand.
“Melissa,” the woman replied, accepting his handshake.
“This is Draco.” Harry pointed at the blond who was approaching them and even in that little introduction, Melissa could hear the pride, the joy, the love and emotion in Harry’s voice as he said that name. Draco and Melissa exchanged pleasantries and then Harry eagerly introduced Savage, before quickly reiterating his insistences that he was not a vicious dog.

She couldn’t stop thinking about them all through the meeting. So much so that it was almost pointless going. She didn’t offer much contribution and felt it difficult to shake off the trances she went into. This was silly, she’d only just met them - if you could call it that. But it wasn’t just the niceness of them actually walking her to the hotel to make sure she got there safely, Draco holding Savage’s leash and Harry pulling her suitcase behind him that drew them to her. No, it was something else. Something stronger. It was almost like the love they had for each other was affecting her, like some sort of magical force.
The regional boss had snapped at her at one point and asked why she looked confused. Melissa slipped back into business mode and calmly told him that she wasn’t confused and if they simply looked back into data from three years ago then they’d be able to pinpoint the exact date the profits started to take a dive. That shut him up and got him off her case too and satisfied that she had made a worthy contribution, she slowly drifted back to that morning and wondering what the pair were doing now.
She tried to find them after the meeting was done. Promising she’d meet up with her co-workers for the arranged piss up afterwards (the whole reason she had arrived by train and not car) she slipped down a few back roads and found herself back in the park. It looked different now it was daytime but still held very few people in it as it was not the desired weather to want to be in. They weren’t there however and, with a slight shake of the head and a smile to herself, she started to make her way back to the hotel to get drunk.
