Do the public schools have the right to sexually abuse children?

Those school officials should go to prison. It's unconscionable that school officials are able to get away with actions that would put anyone else of a sex offenders

I realized just now that I'm having trouble even understanding the thought process that led to this.

1. Girl gets caught with non-hallucinogenic, non-high-giving ibuprofen pills.
2. Girl blames other girl because she doesn't want to get into any trouble, and we all know that middle schoolers are always completely honest to authority figures.
3. Some missing step.
4. MUST STRIP SEARCH SECOND GIRL.

I don't think this is really sexual abuse, but it's certainly crossing boundaries. At the *very* least it seems that the school should have had to contact the girl's parents before they decided to do a strip search. It's not like she was in jail.
