Nine Explosions [Voice // Action in front of City Solutions]

Jul 10, 2010 12:36

Ah so this is like Stark Expo a bit.

Or a press conference.

In any case, I'll be out in front of City Solutions giving demonstrations with the suit--it's not entirely finished yet--taking pictures and signing autographs.

[It's obvious by his voice, he's enjoying this far too much]

( ooc: Sol's LJ is favoritetraitor )

Keats looked over everything that blinked like a cat would watch a bird. From where he was perched he seemed perfectly content. "So, your homage was the company. What all do you do?"

"For a long time I followed in his footsteps," Tony answered. "I had a contract with the US military and I supplied them with weapons. Then one day I saw first hand the damage my weapons were doing. They were being used to kill women, children...people who had nothing wrong except try to survive."

He pauses a moment then clears his throat. "That's when Stark Industries became more interested in peace rather than war. I built a suit." He gestures to the Iron Man suit standing in a corner of the room. "It's a weapon. The most powerful weapon in my world and I alone use it to get rid of the right people and the weapons they use."

Keats walks back over to the suit and begins to walk around it. The inner workings of something like that are far beyond him. His makeup and creators knew nothing of machinery and never had the chance to learn.

"So you're a super hero then?" He stopped fully in front of the suit and looked up at it. "Is there something to stop this from falling into the wrong hands?"

"I'm not really the type," Tony confesses. "But if you want to call me a hero..." Hands splaying wide and grin making it obvious he wouldn't mind that, "don't let me stop you."

He looks to the suit then to Keats. "It's equipped with an AI. It has voice recognition and retinal scans. No one gets inside the suit to control it unless I've okayed it. There's also a self destruct trigger. I can trigger it from any computer or from my cell phone."

Keats gave this a long pause of consideration. Everyone enjoyed flattery it seemed and Mr Stark was hardly an exception. He smiled at the suit finally. "So... playing the part of the modest hero? It must be difficult. What do you do if someone doesn't wish to be saved?"

Hardly an exception at all. In fact Tony loved flattery. "Do I seem modest to you, Mr. Keats?" He chuckled and shook his head. "I don't generally save individuals. I'm more of a big picture kind of person"

{ooc: no worries bb. I just finished a class final myself)

To the question, Keats smirked knowingly. "To be frank, you seem to rather enjoy attention. Though I'll word it as 'friendly and open to questioning' when I write my report. I appreciate your honesty. It's a rare thing that anyone is open about themselves." That was true in so many ways. Even the dead, in Keats' experience, were less than willing to admit their flaws openly and embrace them as the crucial parts of their personality as they were.

"So not helping little old ladies cross the street..." Keats tapped his pencil. "Do you have a system then, to find out if tragedies are going to happen? Are you working on a way to predict the curses?"

It was important for Keats to fit everyone he interviewed into the City. If he could show the benefits everyone brought with them, it may bring a lot of hope.

"If I am perfectly honest...yes," Tony grinned. It was something he'd grown up with so it was familiar to him. "Not working on a way to predict them so much as a way to combat some of the worst curses. For example the rabid sheep, if I could come up with a biological weapon of some sort that affected only the sheep it would have been a boon to the city. Specifically I'm working on weapons that disable rather than kill. Most of the time the afflicted aren't sheep but I don't have to tell you that."

"So more like stun guns or something of that sort?" Keats asked as he scribbled on his notepad. "It would be something to produce a way to guess the curses. At least track em, wouldn'a ya think?"

With another tap on his chin with the pen, Keats continued. "Is there anything else you'd like in my writeup? I believe I have enough to make a good article."

"If such a thing is possible. We've got compile a list of all the curses, look for patterns and then try to predict what type of curse will arrive because of the patterns. It's arduous job but something I'm working on," Tony nods. "And yes, stunning weapons are exactly the sort of thing I'm working on."

He ponders Keats question for a moment. "City Solutions is always looking for bright, talented people to help in our endeavor to make life within the City better. They can contact me or Miss Rushman for more information if they've an interest and think they'd be of use."

Keats nods. "Certainly. I'll get right on this. Thanks for letting me into the labs, it was quite interesting."

He then put the pad away and leaned a bit on the counter. "I do think you should contact my employer. I think you and Sol would have quite a bit ta think about."
