I think that with that one, it's because it's just so OMG-WHAT that I didn't even know where to start. And the comment about how she was dreaming??
All I can say is that if they actually do do something like "this whole season was a dream," I will seriously kill someone. But I truly have no idea what else it could mean.
Still creeped out by these episodes. I just hope that they're not the norm, because hide-behind-the-couch moments was never why I watched Who.
Yes, Ellen said exactly the same thing - about not knowing where to begin. I am sure it won't be something as simple as "it was all a dream," but I also think there is some serious mucking with perceptions here, even beyond what has already been established with the Silence. For instance, I think there might be a power behind the Silence. Or something. I don't know. We do know that whatever was happening with Amy in this sequence was already seriously WTF, with the picture of her with the baby, and the child - her child? but she's just pregnant now? - busting out of the suit just when Amy is getting abducted, and the way she just *had to tell the Doctor she was pregnant right then* before she shot the space suit last time
( ... )
Hah, I said on FB that they were a cross between the Gentlemen ("Hush") and the Dementors.
I think there may be a couple things still hanging out from last season. We just rewatched Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (hdgf likes River YAY!), and it was so tightly consistent with everything that has come after. Very cool, IMO>
I agree with PP's that we may be looking at some timey wimey stuff here. Who's the girl in the space suit? Who's the woman with the awesome/creepy metal eyepatch thingy in the door? What the heck is Badger doing in the Whoverse? Well, maybe not that last one.
I'm not a big fan of the horror/suspense creepiness, but that's my own taste rather than a general statement about the quality of 6.01 and 6.02. I think they were pretty good, even though (or perhaps because?) they left some pretty interesting questions unanswered.
Hey Dave, long time no see! Yeah there is definitely wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff here. Very much looking forward to a season-long (or maybe longer - there seems to be be some stuff from last year lying about) unraveling.
It seems to me that seasons 5 and 6 are tending more towards season-long story arcs than seasons 1 - 4 did -- I wonder if the change in showrunner has anything to do with it.
But yeah, I'm looking forwards to seeing how all the threads unravel.
This reminded me of Girl in the Fireplace, actually--like somebody was looking into Amy's timeline and checking up on her. Don't know what it will actually turn out to be!
