Not only do they make my eyes itch/water, I also just managed to CUT MYSELF while putting them in! How is that even possible?

They can be a complete arse. If you're having eye-watering/itching issues, though, contacts may not be a healthy option for you - what proportion of the time to they give you problems? How long can you handle them being in?
Grab me at some point when I'm around and I'll walk you through it. I've been using the things for about nine years now.

I only tend to notice them when I've just put them in (they're toric lenses to adjust for astigmatism, so they need to be rotated correctly against my eyes, hence the period of discomfort while they aren't quite in the right place)
After getting them in, they give me little trouble though; I've worn pairs for 16hrs+ before. Go LARP.
